Unit 1 : HOME LIFE Date of teaching : 9, 9, 2008 Period:5 Section: Language focus Class:12A6,7,8,9,10 I AMIS AND OBJECTIVES :  Language content: - Vocabulary: Review the previous knowledge. - To help the students to distinguish the sounds / s/ , / Z/ in the pronunciation of The ending ‘ s’ - To revise past simple, past progressive and present perfect. Language function: - To enable the students pronounce the words and sentence containing these sounds correctly. - To help Ss use the tenses aboves correctly  Educational aim : - To help Ss get experiences from others in doing multiple choice exercises - Skill : Integrated skills : listening- speaking-reading-writing II. TEACHER AND STUDENTS’ PREPARATION: 1. Method : Communicative Approach. 2. Techniques: Repetition, explanation, group work, asking – answering. 3. Materials needed : Textbook, pictures, real thing. 4 Students’ preparation : Review the points of grammar 5 Previous exercises: III. PROCEDURE IN CLASS. 1. Stabilization : (2ms) a. Warm – up : Greetings. b. Checking absence : Who’s absent today ? 2. Checking up previous knowledge: Time needed: (5ms) 1. questions . 3. Presentation of the new material : Time Teacher’s activities Student’s activities The content of the lesson 3ms 1 Warm up: Shows Ss some real objects ( three for each kind) 3 books 3 bags. 3 photographs - Asks Ss what they are. From Ss’s answers write down the words on the board , underlines the letter ‘s’ at the end of each word T- whole class Unit 1 : HOME LIFE Period5: Section : Language focus I Pronucication / s/ : bats kits speaks dates photographs 5ms 5ms 5ms 10ms 10ms - Reads and let Ss listen and recognize their pronunciation. Elicits the sounds /s/ and /z/ and say that the pronunciation of the ending ‘s’ is the content of the lesson today. .2Activity1 : - T demonstrates the sounds / s / and / z / by pronouncing them clearly and slowly. - T helps Ss to distinguish these sounds. - T reads the sounds and asks them to repeat. - T calls on some Ss to repeat the sounds in front of the class. - T asks Ss to work in pairs and practice the sentences. - T corrects mispronuncication. Activity 2: Grammar : Asks Ss to recall the use of The simple past, The past progressive and The present perfect. Exercise 1 : Choosing the right tense. - T gets Ss to do exercise 1 individually and then find a partner to check their answers with.
