TRUONG NGOC THONG SỞ GIÁO DỤC – ĐẠO TẠO DĂK NÔNG TRƯỜNG THPT TRẦN HƯNG ĐẠO ------ GIÁO ÁN GIÁO VIÊN : TRƯƠNG NGỌC THÔNG TỔ : NGOẠI NGỮ LỚP :10A1, 10A2, 10A9 NĂM HỌC 2007 – 2008 ======\\//======= TRAN HUNG DAO SCHOOL 1 TRUONG NGOC THONG LESSON : INTRODUCTION Part of teaching : Period : 1st Date of preparing : 25/08/2007 Date of teaching : the firt week Aims and objectives : - To introduce the programmes of English 10. - To help the pupils understand the ways to study lessons, the important of English in the life. Language : Vocabulary : Structure : Skills : Integrated skills Method : Communicative approach. Techniques :Explanation , repetition, question – answer. Teaching aids needed : Coloured chalk, ruler, textbook. CONTENTS : A/THE FIRST SEMESTER : 1. The pupils study these lessons :1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8 at the beginning of school year to the end of December -2007 and take the first semester examination in January- 2008. During this time , all of them must do three mini tests (15 minutes for each one ) and three 45minutes tests. They have 54 periods in this duration. 2. They do the mini tests in the class with many kind of their exercises and the teacher will give back the text to them after a week . How about 45minutes tests? They must follow by the time table of our school for all the pupils in the grade 10 . Three tests for each semester. 3. Each pupils have 2 notebooks :one for taking the notes and another one for doing the exercises. 4. The paper of these tests are provided by the teacher. B/ THE SECOND SEMESTER : The pupils study these lessons :9,10,11,12,13,14,15 and 16 at the beginning of January to the end of April- 2008 and take the second semester examination in May- 2008. During this time , all of them must do three mini tests (15 minutes for each one ) and three 45minutes tests. They have 51 periods in this duration. ______________________________________________________________________ TRAN HUNG DAO SCHOOL 2 TRUONG NGOC THONG Unit 1 : A DAY IN THE LIFE OF … Period : 2 nd Reading Date of preparing : Date of teaching : the first week Aims and objectives : - To provide pupils with some new words to help them understand the reading text. - To help pupils to enrich their reading skill in context. - To help pupils to use the language they have learnt in meaningful situations and speak English more freely. Language :Vocabulary : buffalo, plough, harrow, peasants, tobacco, pump, do the transplanting. Structure : The simple present tense Skills : Integrated skills Method : Communicative approach, grammar – translation method Techniques : guessing, miming, asks and answer, Teaching Aids needed : pictures, wall chart, book, blackboard …. Teaching steps and time location Teacher's activities Pupils' activities I . Warm - up ( 1') II. Checking up previous knowledge III. Presentation of the new materials (37') - Greet pupils - Check pupils’attendance and ask them something about weather, health , … No checking 1. Lead – in - Lets pupils play a game : “ Hot seat “ ( Teacher gives volunteers some pieces of paper with some presented verbs ( sing, smile, swim, plough, harrow… ). The volunteers have to express these verbs by actions. Players try to guess and find out the verbs corresponding with each action). -Asks pupils some more questions to lead to the lesson. 2. Pre- reading : - Lets pupils work in pairs asking about their daily routine. - Greet the teacher & answer the questions . Play the game. Try to look at the actions and guess the verbs - Listen and answer - Pairwork TRAN HUNG DAO SCHOOL 3 TRUONG NGOC THONG - Shows some picture: - Makes questions for the above pictures : Eg : What are they doing ? Where are they? - Explains some verbs and phrase of verb. + Peasant ( n ) = farmer + Lead the buffalo to the field ( Using picture ) + Plough ( v) to dig and turn over the surface of land with a plough. + Harrow ( v ) ( using picture ) + Pump the water ( vpr) ( using picture ) - Helps pupils pronounce the above words correctly - Using the pictures to ask pupils to retell verbs and verb phrases. 3. While – reading : Task 1 : - Have pupils read the text silently and do task 1 on page 13 in pairs.( Guides the pupils to read quickly and pick up information ) - Feedback Task 2 : - Asks pupils to work in pairs , one asks and one answers in 3 minutes. - Calls some pairs to practise. - Gives corrections. - May ask pupils to close their books, look at the pictures again and make questions and answers . - Gives marks for good pairs. - Look at the pictures on the board - Listen and answer - Listen and take note - Listen and repeat - Look at the pictures and talk - Read the text silently and do task 1 - Take the correction - Pairwork Look at the pictures to make questions and answers - Groupwork - Talk about Mr.Vy and Mrs Tuyet’s daily routines without looking at books TRAN HUNG DAO SCHOOL 4 TRUONG NGOC THONG IV. Home work (2') Task 3 : Asks pupils to work in group of four or five, write down on a given paper a brief note about Mr.Vy and Mrs Tuyet’s daily routines at points of time : in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening. - Takes the papers and helps pupils correct - Asks the pupils to close the book and look at the pictures to talk again . 4. Post – reading : - Hangs on a wall chart with points of time and asks pupils to retell activities corresponding with them. Daily routines Have representative from each group use the pictures to make a short talk about Mr.Vy’activities or Mrs.Tuyet’ones - Asks pupils to write a short passage talking about their own or their parents’ daily routines. - Look at the wallchart and practise - Make answers short summary about the content of each passage - Listen and take notes. VI. Self - evaluation : - The pupils are interested in the lesson, so they practice effectively. - Should create confidence because some are so shy when talking in front of the class ---//\\--- Unit 1 : A DAY IN THE LIFE OF … Period : 3 Speaking Date of preparing : 09/09/2007 Date of teaching : _ Aims and objectives : - To help pupils practice asking and answering about daily activities. - To give pupils changes to speak English naturally. And now let talk with your friends about your daily routine. - Encourages the pupils to practise freely and naturally. - May call the others to retell what they have just heart from their friends. 4. Post – reading : - Shows a picture and asks the pupils to describe the activities in the pictures - Calls for a summary of Mr.Lam’s morning activities with closed books. - Asks the pupils to look over at home and prepare “ Writing “ in advance. - Volunteers come to the front and talk to the class. - Listen - Practise freely & naturally - Look at the picture & describe - Practise speaking - Listen and take note VI.
