1 Class description: 20 Ss including 19 girls and 1 boy

2 Objectives: + word stress

+ presentation skills

+ fluency

3 Visual aids: pictures, A0 papers, blackboard

4 assumed knowledge: Ss are at the pre-intermediate levels, they are quite good at pronunciation

5 time: 30 minutes

6 Anticipated problems: time limits

7 Plan

T writes down the goal of the speaking lesson

Warm-up: tagging (5 minutes)

Purpose: review some vocabularies, warm Ss

up, and stimulate interaction among class

a instruction: (2 minute)

+ T explains the rule of the game (say-do-check)

(Note: 1 person is interviewed one time only)

+ T chooses 3 volunteers to come to the

blackboard

+ T gives 3 pieces of paper for 3 Ss

+ T observes class

+ T corrects Ss mistakes if there is any (1

minute)

+ Ss listen to T’s instruction + Ss go the blackboard + Ss receive the paper + Ss play the game in 2 minutes

Task 1: you are a superstar who are talking

about you taste in music to some journalists.(15

Purpose: know how to present

a lead-in:

+ T shows some pictures of some kinds of music

+ T gives some instructions

+ Ss guess what the pictures are about + Ss form their group

+ Ss listen to T

+ T let Ss read the material in textbook

+ T asks Ss, and writes on the blackboard (2

+ T let Ss prepare their presentation, and go

around the class to support Ss

+ T listens, take notes

+ T write down Ss’ comment on the blackboard

+ T correct Ss’ mistake (2 minutes)

+ Ss read and find out what to say in the

presentation (1 minute)

+ Ss answer

+ Ss discuss, write on the A0 (5 minutes)

+ Ss present (other listens, take note the

mistake) (5 minutes) + the rest comment (2 minutes)

Task 2: you are working for a music company

Recently, the number of guests to visit their

website has been in a decline You start to do a

research on customer’s taste in music to do a

new strategy to appeal more guests to visit your

website Use the table in task 2 and go to

interview your customers (8 minutes)

Purpose: Ss’ interaction and interviewing

skills.
