Aims: By the end of the lesson students will be able to: Develop listening skill as listening for specific information and listening for general infromation Use information they have listened to complete true or false statements, write the missing words and summarise main ideas. 2. Knowledge: List some new words Develop comprehension listening skill Become more excited about activities to read books 3. Skill: Main skill : listening Sub-skills : speaking, reading and writing. II. Methold: Communication approach III. Teaching aid: English book 11, projector, computer, and speaker. III. Anticipated problems Students may not understand what speaker say so teacher should provide them some instruction and stop at only sentence. IV. Procedure: Stages/time Teacher’s activities Students’ activities I. Before you listen 10 mins Warm up: Do you know game “Crossword”. Today I have a word which contents 12 letters. - Shows a secret word on board. - Divide class into 2 groups, Each group has one leader. The leader will choose one letter. If group guess secret words more quickly will be the winner. - Listen - Work in groups Guide key word: It is 1 kind of hobbies. “READING BOOKS”. Task 1: Individually work Choose true or false statement - Ask students to read individually all these sentences and give the vietnamese equivalent of each sentence. - Ask students to guess true or false - Individually work - Guess true or false before listening - play the tape once for students to do the task - Ask students to answer and write them on the board - play the tape of each sentence to check their answers - Ask students to explain their answers - Correct answer: 1T, 2F, 3F, 4F, 5T, 6T, 7T, 8F - Listen - Write their answers on the board - Explain their answers 2. Task 2: Individually work - Ask students to read the paragraph sicently, give part of speech to write on empty space. - Play the tape more than one if necessary - Ask student to compare their answers with partner - Call some students to write their answer on the board - Play the tape again and check. - Give correct answers: 1. wonderful 2. disease 3. jungle 4. certainly 5. ignorantly - Individually work - Read the paragraph and give part of speech on empty space - Listen - Dicuss with their partner - Write their answers on the board - Listen III.
