II OBJECTIVES : -By the end of the lesson pupils will be able to ask and answer questions about zoo animals. A Vocabulary : animal, bear, tiger, lion, zebra, monkey, elephant, crocodile, honey, bulky, scary. B Sentences : What animal is that ? It’s ___________. C Skill : listening and reading,speaking skills III TEACHING AIDS: -Picture in student's book, Ss’ book ,tape IV TEACHING PRODUCTION A Organizaton:-Greeting -Checking attendance B New lesson Stages Teacher’s activities Pupil’s activities 1.Warm-up 2.Pre-stage 3.While- stage Ask Ss to say the names of five animals They know in English. Ask Ss to open their book and look at the picture. Elicit the picture. Tell Ss that they are going to listen to the recording and repeat the dialogue between Ben and Mother. Play the recording through or read the dialogue aloud for pupils to listen as they follow the dialogue. Play the recording again,pausing after each line for Ss to repeat. Repeat in choral,group and individual Check to make sure Ss can repeat and understand the dialogue. Give the new model: -What animal is that ? - It’s _____________. Checking meaning ,grammar ,pronunciation *Look and say Ask Ss to look at the Pictures on P.42 Elicit the picture and say the task. Go through all the words under the pictures. Use the first picture to do the task as a model. Say out. Open the book. Listen. Listen Listen and repeat. Write down. Select some pairs to demonstrate the task in front of the class. *Talk Ask Ss to open their book at P.43. Ask Ss to look at the zoo animal in the picture and elicit their names. Tell them that they are going to practice asking and answering question about zoo animals ,using new model have just learnt. Ask Ss to look at picture a as an example and say the sentence “ – What animal is this? - It’s a zebra. “ Tell Ss to work in pairs to discuss how to do the task. Ask them to work in pairs, one asks and the other gives the answer,using the sentence patterns and the picture cues. Ask Ss to role play their friends’ personal characteristics. Select some pairs to demonstrate the task in front of the class. Help when necessary. *Listen and tick Ask Ss to look at Pictures at P.43 Tell them that they are going to hear the recording and tick the correct pictures according to the information they hear. Play the recording through for Ss to listen. Replay for them to listen and tick the correct answers Replay once more for them to check their answer. Let Ss to exchange their answers then report to the class Read out the correct answers to the class. Draw Ss’attention to the sounds of the letter l as in look and the sound of letter ey as in honey.Tell them to listen and pronounce these sounds correctly. Ask Ss to look at the chant .Listen to the teacher’s model and repeat the focused sounds. Home- work repeat the chant.Repeat the step when necessary. Repeat in choral,group and individual Call some Ss to chant out in front of the class. Provide help and correct mistakes when necessary. *Listen and number. Ask Ss to look at the Pictures on P.44 Elicit the picture and say the task. Ask Ss to identify the zoo animals. Tell them that they are going to listen to 4 dialogues and number the correct pictures. Play the recording through for Ss to listen Play the recording again for Ss to do the task Play the recording once more for Ss to check their answers. Get Ss to compare their answers with their partners. Discuss their answers. Help when necessary. Let Ss report in front of the class. *Read and answer. Ask Ss to open the book at P.45 Elicit the picture and the text and say the task. Ask Ss to look at the picture and tell them that they are going to read the text about Linda and Peter’s favourite animals and answer the Qs Ask Ss to look at the Qs first and discuss what part of the Qs they should focus on to get inf from the text to do the task. Let Ss read the text and do the task individually. Get Ss to work in pairs to discuss the answers Call on some Ss to report their answers to the class. Announce the answers to the class.Provide explainations when necessary * Let’s sing. Guide Ss to sing ( P. 45) Do exercise in work book Look,listen and repeat. Listen and repeat.
