Period 123: Preparation date :16 /04/2008 Unit 15 : Lesson : listening

I Aims :

- By the end of the lesson, the students are able to listen for specific information

- By the end of the lesson, the students will know more about the Taj Mahal

Games: question chain

- Put SS into groups, Red and White

- each member of the groups has to come to the teacher and answer a question If the correct answer is given, the student receives a phrase or

a word (card) from the teacher In case of failure, another member from the same group has to come to the teacher and answer that question again

- play continues until al the question are answered

- when all the members have got their cards they have to unscramble these cards to make a meaningful sentences

- ask the groups to sick their sentences up on the board

- go over the answers with the whole class

- the first group to work out the correct sentence is the winner

Speaking : Information-gap

- Put SS into pairs Student A is given

a text on birthday celebrations in some place(s) and student B its gapped version

-Within pairs, SS ask each other questions to fill in the gaps

-In turn student B is given a different text and student A its gapped version

-Pairs continue in the same way -The teacher moves around the class and intervenes only where necessary

Vocabulary review

- tell Sts to learn the new words and make some sentences with them, describing a certain person
