Cashew nut shell is a waste product in the industry that has a high oil content cardanol, high-value applications as corrosion inhibitors for metals In this study, the process of oil extraction cardanol from cashew nut shell with supercritical CO2
technique is performed The purity of the oil extracted cardanol was determined by HPLC analysis Three factors: pressure (200-300 bar), temperature (313-333 K), solvent flow rate (10-20 g / min) with time deducted 3 hours were examined to assess the extraction process The results showed that, pressure, temperature and flow performance affect oil cardanol recovery and purity cardanol
Obtained Cardanol oil, was used as corrosion inhibitors on CT3 steel in 3.5% NaCl environment Results assessment of corrosion inhibition was determined by equipment AUTOLAB PGSTAT 30, showed the highest protective effect was 55.3% (method volume) and 84.3% (method electrochemical) at concentrations cardanol oil level 78,8g / L in 168 hours of testing From these results, it was concluded that cardanol oil extracted from cashew nut shell with supercritical CO2 method has potential application as green corrosion inhibitor
