studying in a school in real life as well as in work If I choose a suitable practice place, I will gain a lot of necessary experience in the future The internship is a great opportunity for me to observe the real work environment and learn behavioral culture as well as create a working relationship It is also a chance for me to learn knowledge about my career field and an important turning point to orient my future job Agriculture is a key factor of An Giang It has been growing strongly in recent years However, the change of weather and climate negatively affects the agricultural development of the locality To the above situation, the locality has applied clean production models and high-tech with cooperation and support from a lot of countries Interpreters and translators in agricultural field will become attractive jobs, so I wish to become a translator in this sector to help the provincial agriculture I spent weeks at the An Giang Department of Agricultural and Rural Development with support from An Giang University and the Faculty of Foreign Languages This report concerns the internship of the Bachelor’s Degree Program of the English Language It took place at An Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development from February 22nd to April 18th This report is divided into three parts in which I try to explain my whole experience of working at the department within the internship period The first part of this report is an overview of DARD, which includes background information, operating hours, function and organization The second part 8-week internship in the Technology, Science and Environment Engineering Division of An Giang was a great experience, it helped improve my translation skills and adapt to the daily office working Translating and Interpreting Translating and interpreting are two essential skills of a linguist, so my supervisor Ms Nguyen Minh Trang asked us to translate a lot of documents in many different forms too little I needed to improve my vocabulary in many different fields; especially in the agriculture sector and I need to be careful in using words including English and Vietnamese My supervisor plan to organize a workshop (in Vietnamese)  From February 24th to February 25th, 2021 Topic: “Workshop to share experiences on economic integration agricultural development” With the topic, I was assigned to complete the workshop with requirements including objective, participants, time and place, content, cost (Please refer to Appendix for further detail) Writing a letter of intent in English  From March 2nd to March 3rd, 2021 Based on the LOI translated in section 1, I can complete a letter of intent in a particular to express interest in a fund that could support the program “For Children’s Smile” in An Giang (Please refer to Appendix for further detail) Writing a proposal for a project  From March 4th to March 9th, 2021 Write a proposal for a project on Environmental Communication Education in An Giang 13 Internship Report Instructor: Ms Nguyen Thi Xuan Hue I need to make a detailed plan for a possible project proposal that is applicable in the province, including name, units, context, objective, main activities, duration, location and total cost Summarizing and presenting - Summarizing  From March 17th to March 18th, 2021 + Summarize the report on Food Security in Singapore Collecting information is extremely important It helps me briefly summarize a project or program that I know to present to my boss or colleague and it is very useful for my future job - Presenting Presentation is one of a student’s most essential skills During this internship I improve my public speaking skill as well as improved pronunciation with many reports as listed it is very convenient for my transportation Secondly, Ms Trang (supervisor), 14 Internship Report Instructor: Ms Nguyen Thi Xuan Hue colleagues and teachers enthusiastically helped me during my internship I not only learned more about my major in English but also learned a lot of life experiences as well as problem-solving skills It will be an important part to help me in the future Disadvantages Besides those advantages, I also encountered many difficulties during my practice With basic knowledge of English, I not have enough knowledge to complete the translation text in agriculture and need Ms Nguyen Minh Trang to guide us with specialized vocabulary Besides, during the reporting process, mispronouncing is timeconsuming and because of the lack of practical experience is doing a lot of work could not be completed on time Thankfully, she understood and sympathized to give us more time Experience The eight weeks of my internship was a great opportunity for me to gain more experience I realized that if I wanted to become an interpreter in the future, in addition to my basic knowledge of English, I need to learn a lot about a major in which I would be working Besides, I need to improve my pronunciation and use vocabulary accordingly in each situation In addition to my knowledge, soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, working attitude are also very important in my future PART C: CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTIONS This section aims to summarize the results of my internship in eight weeks and propose some recommendations to improve the quality of short, the internship at An Giang DARD is a good opportunity for me to gain more knowledge and experience Practicing gives me a lot of motivation to practice in work environment So I can find out my strengths and weaknesses to continue working on my strengths and find ways to overcome weaknesses I believe this internship is also an important part of my resume when I apply for a job in the future II SUGGESTIONS For the Internship Agency The An Giang DARD created the best conditions for the internship However, English language students not have much knowledge of agriculture as well as knowledge of writing plans or proposing projects So, before students can their jobs, the internship agencies can guide or give them examples to the job well For An Giang University and Faculty of Foreign Languages In order to have better and effective future internships, An Giang University and the Faculty of Foreign Languages should let students know more about the internship site, what they have to when they come to the internship agency This helps students to be more stable in psychology as well as equipping them with basic knowledge in the field they are intern In addition, it is advisable to successful internship, here are some suggestions for foreign language students who want to practice at An Giang DARD First, students should orient their future careers in order to find a suitable internship and prepare basic knowledge, especially in the agricultural field During the internship, they should focus on English in the agricultural field to gain more knowledge as well as learn more soft skills They have to practice translation more, from the simplest sentences They also need to learn how to write plans, projects, and reports You can contact your instructor if you are having
