the ways of living developed by a community and passed on from generation to generation, including customs, practices, places, objects, artistic expressions and values Cultural Heritage is often expressed as either Intangible or Tangible Cultural Heritage (ICOMOS, 2002) Cultural heritage does not end at monuments and collections of objects It also includes traditions or living expressions inherited from our ancestors and passed on to our descendants, such as oral traditions, performing arts, social practices, rituals, festive events, knowledge, and practices concerning nature and the universe or the knowledge and skills to produce traditional crafts (UNESCO, 2004) 2.1.2 Cultural heritage and tourism As of 2022, there are a total of 368 cultural heritages in the world, of which Vietnam has cultural heritages Cultural heritage is the main factor that helps attract tourists to countries Cultural heritage sites such as Hoi An Ancient Town, Hue Ancient Capital and Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, My Son Sanctuary are major tourist attractions in Vietnam Hoi An ancient town or Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park also help Vietnam to be mentioned and registered on the world tourist map with many prestigious awards and votes from travel websites reputation Cultural heritage is an engine and valuable experiences for visitors, thereby becoming a strategic resource for tourism development It is the same attraction of cultural heritage that has created waves of investment in heritage tourism That brings not only socio-economic pervasive growth results, but also the Cultural Tourism Development: A Way to Develop Tourism Sustainably” of Vu Hong Van The research paper mainly deals with sustainable tourism and partly on the link between culture and tourism Cultural heritage is a driving force for tourism development and tourism promotes the value of cultural heritage The two have a strong bond with each other 2.3 Contribution of publications The above includes only a portion of publications related to the topic Includes many domestic and foreign publications Ranges from extensive to detailed But looking at them shows somewhat the relationship between cultural heritage and tourism These research papers have presented and mentioned cultural heritage and tourism with many different contents and research directions However, there is no research paper on cultural heritage contributing to the development of tourism Maybe because the scope of the topic is quite broad and not specific But these studies help us see many aspects of the topic and provide the necessary knowledge to h be able to build a more complete topic We can consult and learn more about the topic through these publications Data methodology 3.1 Data collection The data that the research uses is compiled from research papers, data from articles with topics related to the topic we are researching Besides the reference research of the publications, we also carry out the field survey to collect new information from current tourists by making questionnaires and interviewing, which are sent to 100 tourists including Vietnamese and foreigners The questionnaire consisted of questions and two interview questions The numbers of the questions asked are not too large so as not to take up too much of the tourist's time but still have enough necessary information for us to conduct the research The methodology of this paper is based on the study of literature, research papers and reports on the importance of cultural heritage in tourism development In addition, the data that the research uses is compiled from research papers, data from articles with topics related to the topic we are researching 3.2 Data analysis We will research the literature by reviewing the results of previous authors' findings based on those results to add things that we feel are not reasonable and supplement the results that we find to improve the topic of the research The results from the questionnaires and interviews will be specifically analyzed into percentages to come up with new research results Questionnaire Question 1: Have you ever visited any Cultural Heritage sites of Vietnam? According to our research, 88% of tourists who participated in our questionnaire responded that they have visited at least one Cultural Heritage site in Vietnam, remaining 12% h saying that they visited many tourist sites in Vietnam to discover the beauty as well as the culture of the country Question 2: Do you think these Cultural Heritage sites mean to the people and history of Vietnam? Most of our survey participants answered yes They also added that through each cultural heritage site, they can better understand the history and people as well as the culture surrounding the destination, especially foreign visitors Question 3: How important is cultural heritage for tourism development ? ( The answer is divided into levels from not important to very important ) Based on the answers of 100 surveyed tourists, 70% of people think that cultural heritage plays a very important role in the development of tourism, 25% answered that it is important and 5% that cultural heritages are only a small part of the development of tourism Question 4: What is your impression for the cultural heritage sites you visited ? The answer received from foreign visitors is the impression of the historical and cultural significance hidden behind the architectural works As for Vietnamese tourists, they are impressed by the beauty of the constructions From here, we can see that foreigners tend to visit to learn and discover while Vietnamese people tend to visit and enjoy art Question 5: Will you revisit the sites in the near future? We were expecting that many “yes” would be answered However, the survey results received up to 70% said that they will not come back and they will spend time in other places, 20% of them said yes if the tourism service was improved because they were quite disappointed with this trip The remaining 10% answered that they would return to their families, friends, relatives,… 1.1 Interview Question 1: In your opinion, what are the opportunities that cultural heritage brings to tourism ? h Based on the synthesis of opinions from the interview participants We summarize some of the opportunities that cultural heritages help tourism to develop, including diversifying forms of tourism, attracting tourists especially foreign tourists, creating income for the local people Question 2: As a tourist what you think we need to to protect cultural heritage ? For this question we received very positive answers from the tourists who participated in the interview They believe that each tourist should be responsible for his or her own behavior when visiting the monument Currently, the influence of tourists on major attractions is very large Besides the responsibility of the state, the tourism industry and the local people, tourists need to join hands to protect cultural heritages for the present and the future Findings and discussion: In fact, cultural heritage has created attractiveness for tourist destinations Cultural heritage is a factor for tourists to choose a trip, an interactive environment and valuable experiences Promoting cultural heritage and developing tourism is a close and reciprocal relationship It can be said that if tourism develops, it will create conditions for visitors to access cultural heritages in each locality, thereby promoting mutual development Cultural Heritage Motivates Tourism Development Cultural heritage is a tourist resource with a strong attraction and a driving force that attracts more and more domestic and international tourists to Vietnam Currently, the tourism industry considers this as an important foundation and pillar for the development of the tourism economy in addition to the elements of infrastructure, specialized technical facilities, and human resources Cultural heritage is also an active support tool in image positioning and branding for Vietnam tourism On the basis of promoting the unique cultural heritage values of each type of heritage, in recent years, heritage tourism has grown strongly, the number of domestic and international visitors has been constantly participating increase, especially the heritage after being recognized by the State and honored by UNESCO The attractiveness of the heritage has motivated tourism development, bringing many benefits in terms of income, employment, and local socio-economic development h Cultural heritage produces tangible representations of the value systems, beliefs, traditions, and lifestyles As an essential part of the culture as a whole, the cultural heritage contains these visible and tangible traces from antiquity and today Cultural heritages recognised by UNESCO will contribute to introducing the image of the land and people of Vietnam to international friends In particular, cultural heritage is also an important factor that makes a difference to the destination system and tourism products of Vietnam, connecting and diversifying trans-regional and international tourist routes The value of cultural heritage: historic sites, architectural works, art forms, customs, festivals, traditional professions, etc; together with economic, political, and communal achievements associations, cultural and art establishments, museums, etc are objects for tourists to explore, enjoy, for tourism to exploit and use The exploitation and profit from natural resources and the construction of tourist sites reflect the intelligence and creativity of mankind It is these resources that not only create the environment and conditions for tourism to arise and develop, but also determine the scale, type, quality and efficiency of tourism activities of a country, a region, a locality Cultural heritages are the important cultural assets for tourism development globally The combination of cultural heritage and tourism has been regarded as a special tourism and recreation activity The combination of tourism, relics and culture in a city, and natural ecological resources has currently become a cultural and economic trend in the world Cultural heritage - an invaluable resource to promote tourism growth and development For tourism, cultural heritage is one of the invaluable resources, a mark recording the process of formation and development of society, motivating people to preserve and preserve those values The process of preserving and preserving is inseparable from bringing those invaluable values closer to the younger generations, closer to tourists and the world It is cultural heritage that is the foundation, a solid springboard for tourism to take further steps Cultural heritage is the knowledge crystallization of human society through generations With tourism, cultural heritage and nature have become the two most basic resources for exploitation h and development Therefore, cultural heritage will be an inexhaustible resource for tourism development Cultural heritage is the factor that builds the competitiveness of a destination The cultural heritage of each locality, each country has its own distinctive imprints, not duplicated, not copied and stereotyped Therefore, each destination will be the recognition of its own unique cultural values, bringing its own attraction to visitors, creating its own imprints and advantages of the locality or destination Promoting these unique advantages has contributed to strengthening the competitiveness of the destination Vietnam is a country with rich and diverse cultural tourism resources Currently, Vietnam has historical - cultural relics and scenic spots recognized as World Heritage by UNESCO, including cultural heritages; natural heritages and mixed natural - cultural heritage; 12 intangible cultural heritages and documentary heritages The World Heritage sites recognized by UNESCO have changed the face of the local tourism industry and elevated the position of Vietnam's heritage tourism on the world tourist map Besides the cultural heritages recognized at the global level, Vietnam also possesses a massive system of historical-cultural relics, scenic spots at the national or local level, stretching across the world across the country The system of festivals and traditional craft villages; unique culinary culture of regions and ethnic groups; cultural and artistic heritages, folk arts, museums that prove the value of national cultural heritage These are very unique tourism resources with cultural characteristics of Vietnam Vietnam is an important resource, creating strengths and differences of tourism in Vietnam Cultural heritage is the core value for tourism development During the 2015-2019 period, before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam’s tourism sector gained impressive milestones with an average growth of 22.7 percent per year in arrivals and 20.7 percent per year in revenue The total revenue from tourism reached 755 trillion VND in 2019, contributing 9.2% of the country’s GDP 10 h Cultural tourism has claimed a decisive role in creating this impressive result Cultural heritages are the core value for developing typical tourism in tourist areas of Vietnam Prominent and attractive cultural tourism products have attracted tourists in recent years such as heritage sightseeing tours, cultural and historical research through heritage, living museums and museums that display and learn, and experience traditional culture, community cultural life, festivals, culinary culture, spiritual tourism There are many products such as visiting the world cultural heritages of Hue Ancient Capital, Hoi An ancient town, My Son Sanctuary relic, Trang An scenic spot, participating in traditional and contemporary festivals such as the Perfume Pagoda festival, the ceremony Yen Tu festival, Ba Chua Xu festival, Hue Festival have received great attention from tourists and have become attractive and branded tourism products Cultural heritage is the foundation for forming tourism resources and creating products that attract tourists Heritage sites, when put into operation for tourism development, often create a rapid increase in the number of tourists The number of tourists not only includes visitors to the heritage area, but also the number of international visitors to Vietnam, and at the same time, increasing the number of tourists is increasing the total revenue from tourists, increasing efficiency, spillover effects on the development of other economic sectors, creating more jobs for people Conclusion Cultural heritage is increasingly proving to play an extremely important role in development, being an abundant resource for tourism promotion - economic growth, and a solid fulcrum for spiritual life, nurturing environment, and cultural heritage enriching cultural identity and cultural diversity Therefore, promoting the value of cultural heritages associated with tourism development has practical significance Cultural heritage creates endless attractions for tourist destinations calendar Cultural heritage is an engine, a reason for tripping, an interactive environment, and a valuable experience for visitors, thereby becoming a strategic resource for tourism development The same attraction of cultural heritage has created waves of investment in heritage tourism, and busy tourist flows;
