department 1.2.1 The role of Training Department Training Department play the most important role in all educational institutions Training department decides and affects the success of the business For English centers, the mission of the training department is to establish a high-quality training system including plans, programs, materials, teaching organization and quality of teaching to bring the best quality, satisfy the customers The progress of learner, the quality of training is highly appreciated as the most important role of the staff of the training department The training department mentions activities that help to show the difference between English center and other types of services, and also help manage teachers as well as the quality of teaching In short, the training department determines the growth of the company, in which teaching quality comes first, always updating the most effective teaching methods, curriculum, testing, evaluation and assurance Most English centers expect that a staff member of the training department is always knowledgeable in English, enthusiastic, passionate about teaching, friendly and dedicated Alibaba English center that requires professional knowledge, dedicated, friendly and special ability to communicate in both English and Vietnamese languages PART 2: INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROCESS AT THE COMPANY After the English test and interview, I was very lucky to have been admitted to the company On the day of receiving the job, the people who had been admitted are divided into departments based on the results of the test I am fortunate to be part of 10 the training department During the internship, I worked as a teaching assistant of beginner communication of the center, responsible for teaching in class with the teachers during class, preparing English teaching content with teachers, taking care of students at home and fixing homework for students, reporting and updating class results according to the process set out by the training department Becoming a teaching assistant is not easy, but it is not as difficult as I thought Alibaba English center is a company with a young, dynamic working environment with a young staff When I joined the center's training team, I found all of the staff were friendly, open and enthusiastic Everyone is nearly the same age, so it's easy to communicate and understand each other 2.1 Internship activities 2.1.1 Internship process and assigned tasks Starting December 28th, 2020 to January 22th, 2021 I did a 4-week integrated internship at the Alibaba English center With the permission of the company, I come to the company on Mondays, 3, 4, 5, 6,7 every week, specifically from 8:30 am to 11:30 pm, 14:00 to 17:30, evening from 18:00 to 21:00 depending on the time the classroom space I am in charge of teaching During this period, I went to the company to learn about the company's characteristics, functions, duties, and operations and took part in some assigned work at the internship unit This will be a precious time for me, as I have the opportunity to reinforce the knowledge I have learned from the university In addition, I also have the opportunity to integrate into a professional working environment At the beginning of my internship, I read about the work to theory, namely a lesson plan given by my superiors After reading the theory, I watched colleagues directly work with daily tasks so that I could combine the learning with practice Once I understood the process, I accepted the class and was assigned the work by the head of the department I will report my work and training as follows: Week 1: From December 28th, 2020 to January 2nd, 2021 - Meet the head of department of Alibaba English center, give direct advice and interact with everyone in the company 11 - Read textbook materials, receive training teaching skills, how to check lessons for students, how to care for students, understand the rules of the center, and how to use excel software to update your situation class figure - Then are instructed about the class they are assigned to try out, observe colleagues working and acquire the skills of a assistant teaching Week 2: January 4th, 2021 to January 9th, 2021 - Continue to try work in the classroom, observe work - Photocopy of study materials for students - Practice in class after each session under the direction of the head of instruction and colleagues - Participate in English sharing activities and create a communication environment for students at the weekend of the center Week 3: From January 11th, 2021 to January 16th, 2021 - Get a new class - Talking, communicating with early students, actively creating games for you to get to know each other - Support teachers to teach, inspire students positively - Edit pronunciation for students in class - Make photocopies of study materials for students - Check homework for students - Join teachers to answer questions of students when going home - Set up group classes for you to exchange and ask questions - Update class situation via excel for student management to grasp to ensure students' results - Participate in the center's extra-curricular exchange activities in English Week 4: From January 18th, 2021 to January 22th, 2021 - Continue to support teachers teaching - Take part in teaching with teachers in some assigned tasks - Track, help you edit sounds, motivate students to learn while in class - Check homework - Update class status for the student management board to grasp comments 12 - Organize a search session with teachers and chat with native speakers at Hoan Kiem Lake - Have a small party with everybody in the company 2.1.2 Self-performing tasks outside the company's assignment Before coming center to attend the internship, I took the time to prepare myself for the best luggage Firstly, by applying knowledge of phonetics learned in university, I have practiced and improved my pronunciation skills At the same time, I also improve my pronunciation through information channels such as Youtube, Facebook, of famous bloggers Second, I tried my best to improve my communication skills To that, I have applied the knowledge and experience that have been learned and practiced through Basic and Advanced Communication at school Besides studying in class, I improved my skills by chatting with friends in English or with friends looking for native speakers to practice English reflexes Finally, there are teaching skills In addition to the specialized knowledge, the soft skills in teaching are also very important In order to equip well with teaching skills, I always try to take advantage of every opportunity to present in public to increase my confidence In addition, I always observe and learn teaching skills from my teachers, 2.2 Difficulties and lessons during the internship period 2.2.1 Difficulties during the internship period The first time I worked in a professional working environment, met new people and regulations, adaptation was one of my difficulties Actually I felt very tired in the early days But then I was able to adapt to the job under the enthusiastic guidance of my supervisor as well as surrounding colleagues The second problem is that I have to be exposed to a lot of documents, specifically the curriculum, a huge amount of knowledge, but I have to acquire in a short time to be able to support the teacher in the most professional way and inspire learners That put a lot of pressure on me The third problem is teaching support not only within one classroom, but three or four classes Therefore, it is quite difficult for me to manage all classes 13 comprehensively, especially taking care of students and fixing homework Everything requires precision and meticulousness Therefore, to be an English Teaching Assistant, it requires me to have patience and withstand the pressure of work 2.2.2 Experience lessons during the internship period After four weeks of internship at Alibaba English center, although I still had a lot of surprises when I entered a new environment and encountered many difficulties due to lack of practical work experience, I have also acquired and cultivated a number of ants Through knowledge and experience, I have a better understanding of the type of work of an Alibaba English center Teaching Assistant in the Training Department In college, I learned basic English skills, but most of them are based on knowledge of language structures and theory in books When I came to the Alibaba English center, I learned many good opportunities to expand my knowledge as well as learned many things that I have never known from practical experience, especially from my superiors With the enthusiastic attention of leaders and colleagues, I have more skills and experience in the field of business English After a training session of almost four weeks, I achieved the following results: Firstly, my ability to communicate improves both in English and Vietnamese Working in an English communication environment, exposed to many English documents, speaking as well as communication skills increase significantly Besides, having contact with many people from students or working siblings helps me to practice my communication skills better and understand more rich knowledge Second, with a passion for teaching since childhood, this job gives me not only practical experience but also novel, intuitive and highly effective teaching methods At the same time, I can learn a lot from my colleagues and superiors Next is the quickness at work Through an internship at Alibaba, working in a dynamic and youthful environment, I became more acumen at work, improving my problem solving skills 14 In short, this OBSERVATION REPORT 3.1 The practice of using English in the company English is now a global language Among hundreds of different languages, the world has chosen English as a means of communication so that everyone can understand each other Vietnam is also increasingly developing and popularizing the English language as an inevitable need Recognizing that, many English centers 15 have been born In order to create a high quality English training environment, the quality of the staff's English level is extremely important, which determines the success of a business Operating mainly in English education, therefore, English becomes the main language of the company, especially Training Department As an English training environment, employees need to be good at, master all English skills to bring the best quality Therefore, right from the recruitment stage, the center has focused on interviewing in English, carefully considering the candidate's English level in the recruitment process, the staff must have a good English proficiency for Training Department and basic English for other departments In fact, the use of English as the communication language in the company for the training team is quite good, most of the lecturers, tutors, and leaders are graduates of the foreign language major or have an international certificate with high scores However, the frequency of using English as the main language at the company is not high, the center's training team is geared towards young, dynamic people to create a useful communication environment for students so that it also limit contact with native speakers and create a habit of using Vietnamese in the center Recognizing the negative things that still exist, Alibaba always makes management policies to improve the quality and English level of all employees, especially the training team During the internship, I had time to practice listening, speaking, communicating and working directly with English-speaking colleagues and superiors Since then, I improve my ability to listen, speak, read, write in English, especially my ability to communicate 3.2 Solutions to improve the using of English in the company After a month of work, I would like to offer some solutions for the company to improve the skills of its employees as follows: The first is the quality of training In addition to the young and dynamic team, the leadership needs to improve the training roadmap by adding more sessions with foreign teachers from there, creating a working environment with more exposure to 16 native speakers, improving the
