intuitive way thanks to its skillful skills or witty comments from gamers that not cause discomfort, mound for viewers 4.2.3 Recommendations for email marketing Problems: the company did not have any specific strategy or plan for email marketing and that led to the bad results Recommendations: The company should consider email marketing a good tool to gain more advertisers and a convenient way to deliver information to publisher and many more benefits from it So, they should make more investments into their email marketing such as: using a quality email marketing tool and having to have a specific strategy for any email marketing campaign ❖ For email marketing tool: A tool that the researcher would like to recommend is: “MAILCHIMP” with a budget of just 14.99$ a month - Benefits of using this email marketing tool is: + Advanced audience insights + Retargeting ads + Custom templates + Behavioral targeting automation series + Promote your business across email, social, landing pages, shoppable landing pages, postcards, and more all from a single platform 79 ❖ For email marketing strategy: There are 10 steps to set up a successful email marketing strategy that the company can apply: Step 1: Build a quality email data Building an email data and customer information is an extremely time-consuming and labor-intensive task The company can build their email data in the following ways: + Create a newsletter registration form on your website + Summary of current customer information + Ask customers to leave information and email for easy care + Find reputable data list providers Step 2: Cleanse the current data base Rentracks should spend the time cleaning the database by removing obsolete data and updating new email data Here are some great tools for updating emails and verifying the existence of these emails: + Jigsaw (aka Data.com) + D&B + StrikeIron Step 3: Send mail with the consent of the recipient There are many people trying to send email without the recipient's approval In fact, what caused a lot of trouble is the email being spammed or blacklisted Therefore, the best way is to send mail with the consent of the recipient The marketing message will be sent periodically as an electronic newsletter Here is a way to get the email's consent: + Place a simple email newsletter signup form on all the pages related to your website + Add a link to segmentation of email lists by age, gender, occupation, etc If we not segment the email address we have, then definitely Email marketing will be poor with low clickthrough rate, or they will stop receiving email marketing Here are some ways to segment emails: + Place + Career + Age + Areas of concern Step 5: Define the goals of the campaign Rentracks should not send email marketing with a mixture of company news, tips or promotional information that is not organized properly Instead, we should spend less time with the marketing and sales team determining the goal of each message, so that we can create an email marketing draft that targets the right customer segments Here are some common goals of email marketing campaigns that we can refer to: + The quality of the newsletter is good and surpasses expectations from the first time + Advertise a specific product or service to increase the likelihood of returning and continuing to use this product or service by existing customers + Take care of existing customers and find potential customers + Increase the number of visitors to articles on your website 81 Step 6: Do not overdo email designs As we often see, something simple will win the hearts of many people The same goes for email marketing You should not overdo the photoshop technique or be too sophisticatedly designed, that will make the recipient feel confused Design your email simply by: + Use text more than images (preferably 80% of text and 20% of images) + Demonstrate the main purpose of the email, encourage the use of text link and insert simple contact images + Use design elements to get mail recipients focused on the focus of email marketing There is an example of an effective email marketing design template that the company can apply: in a successful email marketing campaign is how we choice topics If our subject is unattractive and practical, our email may never be opened or may even be filtered as spam There are a few tips for creating a headline with a high open rate: + Avoid spam words like "free", "call now", "urgent" or "order now" + Email should contain up to 50 characters + Email should show the company name, brand or product, service company + Write emails creatively so it becomes memorable, humorous, and stimulates the curiosity of mail recipients Step 9: Statistics of email marketing effectiveness Before the company start any email marketing campaign, they should set up some features to evaluate its effectiveness They should track and statistic some indicators such as: + Email recipient rate + The rate of people opening emails + Rate people click on the link on the email + Rate of customer feedback after receiving email 83 The above data can be collected through the control panel of email marketing software or some web analytics tools such as Google Analytics Step 10: Testing and screening The only way to be successful is to optimally combine designs, drafts, etc., then send the sample to several audiences and get feedback we then make some adjustments such as title, font size, color, etc., and even a piece of content After completing the edits, we just need to send a series of emails and follow the feedback 4.2.4 Recommendations for affiliate marketing services The main issues: the small number of publishers and advertisers; the publisher was not working effectively Recommendations: ❖ To increase the number of advertisers and publishers: that requires some of marketing strategy that the researcher have done in this thesis such as: + Website marketing + Pay-Per-Click marketing campaign + Social Marketing Strategy + Email Marketing ❖ For the low performance of publishers: To motivate the publishers to work harder to lead more sales The company should Recommendations for human resources The main problems: - The digital marketing team is sometimes lack of knowledges in some areas of digital marketing because digital marketing is always changing everyday with new technology - Lack of a content developer - Lack of a strategic planner Recommendations: - To enhance the knowledges and skills for digital marketing team Rentracks should invest more into training for them With the support from their hub in Japan and other teams over Asia, they could easily to this In addition to that, there are so many digital marketing courses over on the Internet which can help to horn their skill For example: “Coursera.org” is a world-wide online learning platform offering many high-quality digital marketing courses with very low budget Rentracks should hire positions of a content developer and a strategic planner: - The Strategic Planner who will be responsible for: + Shaping the company’s overall business strategy + Developing strategic plans and assessing company performance + Conducting research and data analysis to inform business decision + Develop plans to materialize strategy and analyze business proposals + Research competition to identify threats and opportunities + Assess the company’s operational and strategic performance 85 + Align processes, resources-planning and department goals with overall strategy + Monitor and analyze industry trends and market changes - A content developer who will be responsible for: + Writing content for website, blogs to promote and to guide advertisers and publishers to know how to use affiliate systems + Implementing strategic content plans for website, social media channels + Writing advertorials to promote imported cosmetics from Japan + Writing motivational stories to attract publishers and advertisers to join affiliate marketing network of the company 86 CONCLUSION In the digital age, digital marketing has been outweighed the traditional marketing As affiliate marketing service provider in Vietnam since 2012, Rentracks have been positioned their brand in Vietnam with a vision of being a leading affiliate service provider With the experienced technical team, dynamic digital marketing team and the advanced technology team from Japan and supports from other teams over Asia I believe that Rentracks is on their way to achieve their goal in Vietnam market On the other hand, there are some drawbacks that I have realized when working as a digital marketing consultant there The main problems are the small number of publishers and advertisers which is a key to a success of affiliate marketing business; some problems from their digital marketing activities such as: social media marketing, website marketing, email marketing, and some problems from the human resource of digital marketing team But these problems could be solved easily by their internal sources In this thesis, I have proposed some main recommendations and to cope with their problems such as: recommendations to optimize their website to help them to appear on the top of search results on Google; recommendations to increase traffic to their website by using content strategy with specific plans and utilizing the Paid Ads to lead more traffic to the website which will also help to increase the number of publishers and advertiser to build a large affiliate network; recommendations for social media to help Rentracks reach their potential customer as well as to easily manage their publisher team and boost their sales by making a specific social media strategy; recommendations for their own developed mobile games by using social media; recommendations to rebuild their email marketing process and affiliate marketing programs; finally is proposing a solution for their digital marketing team by referring some digital marketing courses and training from their hub in Japan I believe that these recommendations will help Rentracks improve their would be so easy to start an affiliate marketing service provider company Besides, the Government of Vietnam are extremely supportive to encourage start-up scenes in Vietnam Therefore, the competition is significantly high to Rentracks Vietnam Bargaining power of suppliers: To affiliate marketing, one of the most important factors affecting the success of the company is the commission The commission was mostly offered by the advertisers Sometimes it was negotiated between Rentracks and the advertisers To Rentracks, they always try to negotiate with the advertisers to provide a highest commission for the publishers The higher commission, the more appealing to publishers Besides, the number of publishers and advertisers are the key to the success of an affiliate marketing Having the large number of advertisers would be a huge advantage as the company could offer a wide rage of products or services for publishers to choose whatever they want The quantity of advertisers also contributes to the company brand name as a reliable affiliate marketing provider Intensity of Rivalry The affiliate marketing services in Vietnam is not intense.The fact that there are a quite a lot company can provide affiliate service but there are just a few that can supply a good quality service as Rentracks Vietnam Rentracks considered “Accesstrade Vietnam” a direct competitor which can provide high quality affiliate services with a same business model and have a large affiliate network as a leading company in Vietnam To deal with this threat, Rentracks has been trying to expand the affiliate network by actively looking for new advertisers to be able to diversify affiliate products/services 90 as well as attracting more well-performed publishers Win-win outcome is what the company always aiming to achieve Threat of Substitute Threat of substitute of affiliate marketing is negligible Because the Internet and social media would be endlessly improving and the influencers who have big influences on buyers’ behaviors is on trending in the age of social media network But the threat of switching to the competitor Accesstrade Vietnam is very high because the switching cost is zero and the good service they are offering Additionally, publishers could choose both Rentracks and Accesstrade to work with There are usually any rules to restrict their selection of affiliate service providers That’s probably a reason for the low performance of publishers of Rentracks When they have worked well with Accesstrade, they would actively keep working with them Bargaining Power of Consumers To Rentracks, Rentracks target customers is mostly young people having a certain influence on social media network The bargaining power of consumers is not very high With affiliate marketing, publishers usually not have a right to ask for higher commission when it comes to choosing affiliate program But they have a privilege to choose whatever products/services they want
