I Objectives :By the end of the lesson,Ss will be able to

- listen three students are talking about how they would like to spend their holiday

- listen for specific information and listen for general ideas

II Materials :

- textbook, cassette recorder, tape, pictures

III Anticipated problem:

Ss may not catch some information, so T should be ready to assist them

5 mins I Warm up

- introduce the rule of the game: Hangman

HOLIDAY

Lead in:

- Listen and play the game

1.Where you often spend your holiday?

2.Who you usually go on holiday with? (friends, relatives, …)

3.How you like your holiday?

Now, today you are going to study part C: Listening

You will listen to someone talking about his / her holiday

Suggested answers: 1.I often spend in Nha Trang/ Dalat

2 I usually go with my friends/ parents … 3.I like it very much

7 mins II Before you listen

- get Ss to work in pairs and see the two pictures in the book and ask them some

1 Where are these people ? What are they doing ?

- call some Ss to answer the questions * Pre-teach new words :

- T introduces the new words that will appear in the listening passage

1 Campgrounds(n): a place for camping wilderness (n) : there is nobody live there

3 Waterfalls (n) (pictures)

Cam Ly waterfall is one of the most beautiful sights in Da Lat city

Now, you are going to listen to three people, Anna, Terry and Mary talking about their holiday Listen to them and decide if the statements are true or false - play the tape twice

- get ss work im groups to share their ideas

- call on some Ss to give the answer - check the answers with the whole class If many Ss can’t answer the questions, T plays the tape one or two more times and pauses at the answers for them to catch Keys:

Introduction: Now listen to the listening text again and answer the comprehension questions You will listen to the tape twice

- give Ss minute to read the questions - check if ss can understand the questions in Task

- play the tape twice for ss to listen and answer the questions

- read out their answers

- check with T
