UNIT17:WHAT TOYS DO YOU LIKE? LESSON 3-( PART 1-2-3)

I.AIMS

1 Knowledge: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: Use the words and phrases related to the topic Toys

- Ask and answer questions about toys, using What toys you like?

- Pronounce the sounds of the letters i-e and i in the words kite and ship respectively

2 Skills: -Develop Ss speaking and listening skills

3.Attitude:-Educate Sts to love their lesson Work hard

2.Warm up:5’

Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by calling a few pairs to the front of the class and ask and answer the questions Do you have any pets? How many+ word for pet + you have? Then have the class sing the song Do you have any pets?

Tells ps that they are going to practise saying the letters, words and sentences in the book Put the phnics letters i-e and I on the board and say them

a few times ask ps to repeat after you Prompt ps to say the words and sentences, paying attention to the target phonics letters Do choral repetition of the words and sentences until ps feel confident

Activity 2: (10’)

- Tell ps that they are going to a dictation Give ps a few seconds to read the text in silence before starting the dictation

- Have ps swap and check their answers before checking as a class Wrtie the correct answers on the board for ps to copy down in to their notebooks

- Get ps to work in pairs and practise saying the sentences

Activity 3:10’

- Tell ps that they are going to say the Do you like toys? Chant Get ps to follow the procedure in teaching the unit component in the introduction - Read each line and check comprehension Give feedback and have ps repeat each line of the chant

- Play the recoding three times for ps to choral and individual repetition

- Ask ps to sit face to face to practise chanting and doing the actions

- Call two groups of six to the front of the class saying the chant: one group chants the questions and the other chants the answers The class claps the rhythm

- Have pupils look at pictures on Page 52 Elicit the characters in the pictures and their names Ask pupils to guess and complete the speech bubbles

- Model: Call pairs to practice in front of the whole class Practice in pairs Allocate the parts of the characters the boy and the girl to the pupils Ask them to point the pictures and act out the dialogues Using the pictures in their books Monitor the activity and offer help Correct pronunciation errors (stress, assimilation of sounds, intonation) when necessary
