UNIT 6: Letter Ff Lesson 3 I.Aims.

1/Knowledge.

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to read and say the three Ff words correctly

-Recognize and say an extra Ff word correctly - Sing letter Ff song

-Fox, fish, frog Sight words

-My, funny, and, are, with

2 Skill: Listening, writing , speaking and reading. 3 Attitude.

- Educate Ss to be friendly with friends - Students love animals with the letter f - S:Le Ngoc Linh know the letter D II.Teaching aids:

T: teachers’ book, , CD, phonics cards ,paper including the lyrics of the chant Ss: Student’s book, colour Activity book.

2.Warm up ( 5’) - Greet students

- Have students sing the chant in lesson 1, keep the rhythm by clapping their hands and doing hand actions 3 New lesson ( 30’ )

- Teacher reads the printed words then let the students point to the pictures and say the words

- Call on some students read them aloud and correct pronunciation (if any)

around the classroom

- Call out a word, e.g fox The students point to the correct phonics card

- Alternatively, play the CD (track 38) - Ask students to listen and point to the

correct phonics cards when they hear the word

- Ss: work individually

(The teacher could have a student volunteer to say the word.)

2.Warm up ( 5’) - Greet students

-Review the previous lesson by playing the “Matching game” - Put up the fox, fish, and frog phonics cards on the board - Write the words in a column in random order

-Ask individual students t come to the board and match the phonics cards to the words by drawing lines

3 New lesson ( 30’ )

-Point to the letters, name the items and revise the sounds

-Explain the activity

-Ask students to look at the pictures and circle the corresponding letters

- Ss: look at the pictures and circle the right letter

- Ss: work individually and pairs

-Go around and provide any necessary help

-Show the students the fork phonics card Point to it and say: /f – fork Ask them to repeat

-Do action like fork and say /f/, fork -Encourage the students to the same -Say the letter and ask students the action -Play the CD

-Ask students listen, point to and repeat the word

-Name some colours and ask the students to repeat

-Give the students minutes to colour in the ‘frog’ and ‘fish’ that have Ff in them

-Go around the classroom providing any necessary help

Activity 4: Craftwork (7)

-Ask the students to take out their notebooks -Ask them to choose one word the draw the letter and the picture in their notebooks - Ss: work individually

-Tell them to colour the letter and the picture

-The first students to finish will show their picture to the class
