1 Cách sử dụng “although/though/even though, despite, in spite of”

Chúng ta sử dụng although, despite, in spite of để thể tương phản hai hành động (hai mẩu thông tin) câu.

Chúng ta sử dụng although trước mệnh đề despite, in spite of trước danh từ (noun) cụm danh từ (noun phrase).

• although/though/even though (dù, mặc dù, cho dù)

Ex: the home team lost although they played very well.

Mặc dù đội nhà chơi tốt, họ thua.

Although he is so young, he performs excellently. Mặc dù cậu trẻ, cậu biểu diễn xuất sắc. • despite/ in spite of (mặc dù, cho dù, bất chấp)

2 Cách sử dụng “however, nevertheless”

Chúng ta sử dụng however nevertheless để thể hiện tương phản hai câu Chúng ta thường dùng dấu phẩy sau chúng (however,

nevertheless,).

• However (bất kể nào, nhièn, thế nữa)

• Nevertheless (tuy nhiên, mà)

Ex: He is so young However, he performs excellently.

Cậu trẻ Tuy nhiên, cậu biểu diễn xuất sắc.

Ex: He is so young Nevertheless, he performs excellently.

Cậu trẻ Tuy nhiên, cậu biểu diễn xuất sắc.

3 Tính từ tận -ed -ing

a) Tính từ tận -ed dùng để mô tả trạng thái cảm xúc người (đối với người, vật

b) Tính từ tận -ing dùng để mô tả người, vật việc tạo cảm xúc Nó mang nghĩa chủ động.

Ex: boring (tẻ nhạt) Lan’s job is boring.

Công việc Lan thật tẻ nhạt.
