AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: - To teach the students some words and phrases relating to a vacation to the USA. - To revise tenses. - To be able to write a postcard talking about a vacation to somewhere. - To make the students aware of the beauty of places of interest in the USA. - To have a knowledge about the USA and its people. II.TECHNIQUES: Explanation, Groupwork, Writing, Sharing and Comparing, Asking and Answering, Gap-Filling. III. TEACHING AIDS: Textbook, chalks, handouts IV. PROCEDURES IN CLASS: TIME TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES 7’ I. WARM-UP: - have ss play a game:”crossword” +give rule the game. +give some pictures and suggesion - Play the game. 1.Pre-writing +Says:as we know,mrs.quyen and her husband wen on holiday to USA.they visited lost of famous place of interes. -in last lesson, wha did she send to her children? -Have you ever written a postcard before? Now we will learn Unit 12: A VACATION ABROAD, part: Writing. In this lesson, we will learn how to write on a postcard. Ex: He was taking a shower at 8 o’clock last night. 2. Form: Was/were + V-ing 3. Use: To indicate an action that was in progress at a point of time in the past 4. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:  LANGUAGE CONTENT: - To teach the students some words and phrases relating to a rice-cooking festival. - To help the students get familiar with compound adjectives.  LANGUAGE FUNCTION: - To talk about a rice-cooking festival in Viet Nam.  EDUCATIONAL AIM: - To make the students be proud of traditional festivals in Viet Nam. 1.
