Lesson 1: Part A, B, C I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of this lesson, students will be able to identify body parts and follow simple instructions

Vocabulary: head, leg, arm. Structure: Touch your (head). 2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing 3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary II Teaching aids:

+ Teacher’s aids: Ss’book and teacher’s book, class CDs, flashcards, projector /TV. + Students’ aids: Student book, notebooks, workbook.

III Method:

- Model - Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work IV Procedures:

1 Organization:

- Greeting and check student attendence

2 Warm up (5’)

*Activities: “Bang!”

- T asks Ss work in groups

- T give each group a box with many pieces of paper in it Write a sentence on the paper

E.g It’s a pink flower./ It’s a white flower./… and fold it in half

- Add a few cards that say "BANG!"

- T asks Ss to take turns picking up a card from the box If they read the sentence correctly, they get to keep it If they draw a BANG! Card, they yell BANG! and then return all their cards (except the BANG! card) to the box

3 New lesson (30’)

Teacher- Students’ activies Content

*Activitiy A: Listen and point Repeat (7’)

- T use flashcards to introduce the new words: head, leg, arm

1 Listen and point, repeat

- T asks Ss to listen to each new word

- T asks Ss to listen to to each new word and repeat all together and individually

- T play the Cd and asks Ss to listen and point to the pictures in their books

- T play the Cd again and asks Ss to listen, repeat several times

- T change the order of the flashcards, point to them individually and have students say the words, correct pronunciation when needed

- T asks Ss to work in pairs, one of them points to the picture in the book and the other says the word

- T asks Ss to point to parts of body and say the words aloud

*Activitiy: Do as I say (3’)

- T says a word about parts of body and touch his/ her part of body

E.g T says “head” and touches his/ her head (or leg/ arm

- T asks Ss to listen carefully and touch their parts of body

E.g Ss touch their heads when they hear “head”

*Activitiy B Listen and point (8’)

- T introduce the situation

E g Teacher says, “ Touch your head.” and touch his / her head Ss listen, say and the same - T plays the CD and ask Ss to look at the picture - T demonstrate the activity by pointing to the new vocabulary items

- T plays the CD again and ask Ss to listen and point

- T asks Ss to work in pairs One says the command and one acts out Swap the roles and continue

*Activitiy C Sing (7’)

- T asks Ss to turn to page 68 - T read the lyrics as a whole class - T plays the CD and ask Ss to listen

- T plays the CD again and ask Ss to listen, sing along and act out

*Activity: Quick pointing (5’)

- T divide children into groups

- T call out one body word

- Ss point to their body parts as fast as possible

- Groups that say the words correctly and point correctly win points

UNIT 4: MY BODY Lesson 1: Part D, E I Objective:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant III Method:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work,group work IV.Procedures:

2 Warm up (5’)

*Activity: Touch Body Parts

- T asks Ss to stand in pairs

- T say a word and have students touch the appropriate body part of their partner Repeat the activity with other words

3 New lesson (30’)

*Activity D Point and say (10’)

- T introduce the situation: “The children are playing a game Look! The boy is touching his head … ”

- T give Ss more examples by touching his/ her parts of body when he/ she says Ask some Ss to

make examples

- T show a flashcard to the class

- T ask Ss to practice the structure using the new word

- T asks Ss to repeat with other flashcards E.g Teacher shows flashcard "head" Class: "Touch your head."

- T divide the class into pairs

- T asks Student A say, e.g "Touch your leg.", and Student B the action

- T asks Ss to swap roles and repeat

- T calls some pairs demonstrate the activity in front of the class

*Activity E Play “Simon says” (10’)

- T asks Ss to look at the example

- T tell Ss that they must only follow commands that start with "Simon says…"

- T demonstrate the game by giving the students different commands If the command starts with "Simon says," Ss must the action If it doesn't start with "Simon says," Ss who the action must sit down

- T calls one student come to the front of the class to be "Simon."

- T swap roles and repeat with a new "Simon."

*Activity “Draw a monster” (10’)

- T asks Ss to work individually

- T give each Ss a piece of paper to draw a monster

- T asks Ss to think about how many body parts the monster will have Encourage them to draw a scary monster

For example, Ss can draw four heads, eight arms and one leg and ask them draw and color the monster

- Display the completed pictures in the classroom

E Play “Simon says

Play game
