LESSON 3: Part 6, 7 I Objective:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to read, say the three Mm words correctly, recognize and say a new Mm word correctly

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing 3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant III Method:

- Model – Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work - Some techniques can be used: Craftwork, Thumbs Up or Down IV.Procedures:

*Activity: Which one is missing

- T put the moon, mouse, milk phonics cards on the desk - T give Ss some seconds to look at them

- T ask Ss close their eyes and take away one phonics card

- T tell Ss to open their eyes and name the phonics card that is missing 3 New lesson (30')

- T play the CD for Ss to listen and circle the Yes or No for each picture

- T calls some Ss point to the items and say them again

- Call one student come to the front of the class and give him/her a phonics card

- T ask another student to read the card, if he/she reads correctly, the rest of students say “ yes” If he/she reads incorrectly, the rest of students say “ no.”

Activity Point and repeat Colour (10') - T show Ss the monkey phonics card Point to it and say: /m/ - monkey Ask them to repeat. - Mime: put one hand on top of the head, the other underneath the arm and scratching and say: /m / - monkey

- T point to the pictures, Ss corresponding actions and say the words

- T play the CD, students listen and repeat - T point to the pictures and ask Ss name them - T gives Ss some time to colour in the pictures of the words that start with the m sound

S’ Tam:

- Colour the pictute that start with mm sound Activity: Craftwork (5’)

- T ask Ss to take out their notebooks and to choose one word the draw the letter and the picture in their notebooks

- Tell them to colour the letter and the picture

- T write on the board the big M and small m - T point to the letter M and say out loud “This is the letter M/em/The letter M says /m/.”

- Point to the letter m and say out loud “This is the letter m /em/The letter m says /m/.”

- T ask Ss to repeat its sound chorally, then individually

*S’ Tam:

- Trace the letter and sound Activity: Trace and match (7')

- T ask Ss to read the sounds and the objects in each question in the book

- T ask Ss to trace the big and small letters in the book

- Students read the objects again and decide what sound is at the beginning of the words in the pictures

- T ask Ss match the sounds with the

corresponding words of the pictures by using a pencil and a ruler to draw a line

- T ask Ss to choose pictures corresponding with the words in each
