- By the end of the lesson , students will be able to practise the sound of the letter Dd and the coresponding words

-Ask ss to look at the book and write as many D as they can in two minutes - Ss write the most they will be winner

- Ss colour the apples that have Dd in them using any colour they like

2.Listen ,point and repeat.Colour the pictures of the words that start with a sound: 10’

- Put up the acrobat phonics card on board - Ask ss to point the ant and say

- Play the CD Ask ss to listen and sing - Ss point the pictures and ask ss name them - Give time for ss colour

3 Pactise: 7’ *Activity : Hunt

- Hide the cards around the class - divide class into teams

B drum dragon - Play the song Ss have to hunt the card depicting the words in column As they find down they cross out the word on board The first team find all the words before ending the song they will be winer

Greet the students

Review the previous lessons playing the‘Odd – one – out game’

- Put a set of phonics cards on the board plus an ‘odd’ one from another set - Point to each card in turn and say the word for the class to repeat in

chorus

- Take away the odd card from the board

- Repeat with different cards This time ask the student to identify the odd-one-out for the class

- Repeat as many times as necessary 3 New lesson 30’

Have the students say the sound

individually, correct the pronunciation if necessary

Demonstrate how to write thebig Dstroke by stroke

Draw an example of letter D using dashed lines

Use a different colored chalk to model tracing the letter D

Have some students practice tracing letter D on the board

Have students trace letter D in the books Students say /d/ after each finished letter

Go around to give help if necessary

Repeat the same procedure with the lower letter d

Trace and match (page – Activity Book)

Writing & Reading

Copy the boxes from the book to the board and put the phonics card of bear up between them

Tell the students that you are going to write the letter Aa, Bb, Cc and Dd into the box

Demonstrate the writing

Draw linesto the correct pictures that correspond to each letter

Go around the classroom and providing any necessary help

Answer keys: 1 Aa – acrobat 2 Bb– bed 3 Cc – car Dd - doll

Speaking& Listening

Display some phonics card on the board, one of which contains the /d/ sound

Say /d/ sound and have the students point to the card that contains the sound

Ask students to say the words that start with /d/ sound

Activity 2:Join the dots and coulour Then match 7’

Have students name pictures

Ask the student to join the dots to complete the pictures and colour them

Then ask students to match the pictures to the correct sentences below

Go around and give help as needed Answer keys: 1 It is a drum.

2 It is a dog 3 It is a dragon.

2.Tick () the pictures of the words that

Speaking

Ask students to tick the items that start with the d sound

Go around providing any necessary help Answer keys:the students tick items 1, 3, 4, and 6
