I.Objective :

- By the end of the lesson , students will be able to practise the sound of the letter Cc and the coresponding words

1 Language focus:

Vocabulary: cat, carrot, clock Sight word: a, with,am, on Learn an extra C word

2 Skill: listening, speaking ,reading , writing 3.Attitude: to teach ps like cat……

II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher: - Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant

2 Student: - Student’s book, Activity book III Method:

- TPA, PPP IV.Procedures: 1 Organization: - Greeting

- Check student attendence

Greet students

Review the previous lesson by playing the “Guess” game - Divide class into two teams, A and B

- Ask a student from either teamto come to the board

- Whisper one of the target vocabulary words to the student - Without speaking, the student does the actions

- The first team to guess the word wins a point; which team has the most points wins the game

- Repeat as many as necessary 3 New lesson 30’

1 Match:5’

Elicit the letters by saying ‘This is the letter A The letter A says /æ/”

Elicit the pictures by doing the actions and asking students to say the words

Follow the same procedure for the other letters Ask students to match the upper case letters to their corresponding picture and lower case letters Go around and provide any necessary help

Activity: Sound and Word 5’

Divide students into teams, A and B and put one of the phonics cards on the board

Ask a student from Team A to identify the sound (1 point), the picture (1 point), or both (2 points) Continue with a student from Team B

Write the points for each team on the board The team with the most points wins the game

7 Listen, point and repeat Colour the pictures of the words that start with the c sound Say the c word

7.1 Listen, point and repeat 5’

Show the students the car phonics card Point to it and say: /k/ - car Ask them to repeat

Mime driving a car and say /k/, car Encourage the students to the same Say the letter and ask students the action Play the CD

Ask students listen, point to and repeat the word 7.2Colour the pictures of the words that start with the c sound Say the c word 5’

Point to pictures and have students name them Name some colours and ask the students to repeat

Ask the students to colour the pictures which have Cc in them

Give the students minutes to colour in the ‘cat’ and ‘carrot’ Go around the classroom providing any necessary help

Activity: Craftwork 5’

Ask the students to take out their notebooks

1.Match

2.Listen ,point and repeat.Colour the pictures of the words that start with the C sound Say the words

Ask them to choose one word and then draw the letter and the picture in their notebooks

Tell them to colour the letter and the picture The three first students who finish can show their picture to the class

OR

Activity: Hunt The Cards Game 5’

Divide the class into two teams and Hide the phonics cards around the classroom Write the following for each team: -cat, carrot2 - clock, car

The students in each team have to ‘hunt’ for the phonics cards of their team

Play the song from lesson

The first team to find all their words before the end of the song is the winner

- Ss match letters A, B, C with pictures a, b, c 4.Consolidation: 1’

- T asks whole class to read aloud the letter Cc 5 Homelink
