PERIOD 2: Part 4, 6, 7 I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to recognize and say the three Gg words correctly, the actions, read the story and practise the sound of the letter Gg and the coresponding words

Vocabulary: gorilla. 2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing 3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, computer, projector, soft ware III Method:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work, group work IV.Procedures:

2 Warm up (5’)

- T divides students in groups of glass, goat and garden - T plays the chant in Lesson

- Each group mimes the corresponding actions New lesson

Activity Listen Read along (10’)

- T encourage Ss to point to the picture of the word that the teacher says

- T play the CD and ask Ss to listen to the story once

- Play the CD again Ss listen and point to the pictures of the key words when they hear them in the story

- T read the story Ss follow their books

- T reads the printed words then let Ss look at the pictures and say the words

- T asks Ss work in pairs One reads while the other checks, then they change roles Or one reads the printed words while the other looks at the pictures and says the words

Activity: Say the Sight Words

- T point to and say the sight words: look, at, the, in, my.

- Ss repeat

- T calls Ss to read them aloud

Activity Circle the letters Gg Say the g sound (10')

- Point to the letters and revise the g sound - T ask Ss to look at the pictures and circle the letters Gg

- T go around for helping Activity: Thumbs Up or Down

- Number the apples in exercise from one to six

- T asks Ss to put their thumbs up if the apple has Gg in it and put their thumbs down if the glass does not have Gg in it

e.g Teacher: (point to the glass number one in the book) Glass number one Up or Down? Class: (putting their thumbs up)

T: Good! And garden number two? Up or Down? Activitiy Listen, point and repeat Colour the pictures of the words that start with the g

sound Say the g word (10’)

- T shows Ss the acrobat phonics card Point to it and say: gorilla Ask them to repeat

- Mime trying to keep balance and say: acrobat Encourage Ss to the same

- T point to the pictures, Ss the corresponding actions and say the words

- T asks Ss to colour the pictures of the words that start with the a sound

Activity: Craftwork

- T asks Ss to take out their notebooks

- Ss choose one word then draw the letter and the picture in their notebooks

- T tell them to colour the letter and the picture

6 Circle the letters Gg Say the g sound

7 Listen, point and repeat Colour the pictures of the words that start with the g sound Say the g word
