I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to recognize and pronounce the letter Ff and its sound correctly

- Understand, recognize and say the three Ff words - Write the letter Ff

Vocabulary: fox, fish, frog. Sight words: my, funny. 2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing 3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, computer, projector, software III Method:

- Model – Talk – Practice, individual work, pair work, group work IV Procedures:

2 Warm up (5’)

Activity: Reorder Letter

- T put up the egg, elf, elephant and elbow phonics cards on the board - T write the letter of each word in jumbled order around the phonics cards - Ask Ss to write the words in their notebook

- Ask individual students to come to the board and write the words New lesson:

Activitiy 1: Listen, point and repeat Colour (7’)

- T introduction of letter F, Its sound and how to pronounce the words beginning with Ff

- T use a card with letter Ff or write on the board the letter Bb to introduce to the students the new lesson

- Ask Ss how to pronouce the letter name and the letter sound by saying “ This is the letter Ff /ef/ The letter F makes the / f/ sound

- Ss listen and repeat

- T ask Ss to repeat several times and check

student’s pronunciation(letter Ff /ef/ and its sound - Ss work in group

- Ss work individually

- Ss look the cards and repeat

- T use gestures (hand actions) to help Ss to understand the meanings of the words - Ss check the meaning and repeat

- T check student’s understanding T says the words,all ss actions and vice versa

- T call some Ss to say the words out loud and correct their mistakes

- Ss remember the cards

*Activity: What is it? (4’)

- T hold up the phonics cards fox, fish, and frog.

- Show one by one card, partly hidden by a sheet of paper

- Slowly reveal the phonics card

- Ss try to guess what the phonics card is - Go on the other cards

- T check correct the students’ pronunciation

Activity Listen and point Choose (5’)

- T ask Ss look at the books and listen to the words: My funny

- T point to the cat and say: I am a cat Then, ask Ss to repeat

- Play the CD

- Ask Ss to look at the pairs of pictures on the side and choose the correct one for each corresponding animal

Eg:Teacher: (pointing to the fox) My funny, … Student 1: fox! etc.

Activity: Memory Game (5’)

- Put the phonics cards of fox, fish, and frog on the board

- T ask Ss to memorize the order of these cards - T ask Ss to close their eyes, remove one phonics card randomly and ask individual Ss to name it - Continue changing the other cards

Activity Chant and show(5’)

- Put up the lyrics of the chant on the board

- Without music, use the phonics cards and step Ss to sing the chant with fox Do the same with fish

and frog

- With music, Ss sings the whole chant Do the chant again using gestures for each word

Activity: Write down the words into notebook

- Ask students write down: Ff, egg, elf, elephant into their notebook
