UNIT 10: OUR HOUSES IN THE FUTURE I Objectives

- By the end of the unit, students will be able to:

+ pronounce correctly the sounds / dr / and / tr / correctly in isolation and in context. + use the lexical items related to the topic ‘Our houses in the future’

+ use ‘will + V’ for the future and ‘might +V’ for future possibility

+ use the combinations of the adjectives (modern, smart, automatic, ) + N (house, dishwasher, TV )

+ ask appropriate questions about future houses and appliances

+ talk about houses in the future ( types, locations, surroundings, appliances ) + read for specific information about houses in the future appliances

+ listen to get information about dream houses

+ write about a dream house (type, location, surroundings, rooms, appliances) - Students will be developed skills: speaking , listening , reading and writing

- Students will be educated to love their houses more and they will like learning English more and more

LESSON : GETTING STARTED ( P 38 - 39 )

A OBJECTIVES:

1.Knowledge: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to listen and read the dialogue between Nick and Phong to understand the details then some more tasks to understand more about houses in the future

+ Vocabulary: solar energy, appliance, wireless, space, motorhome + Grammar:

2 Skills: Practice and develop listening, reading and speaking skills

3 Attitude: Political thought and moral sense: educate students should have a dream about their houses in the future and they will be interested in learning English more 4 Competences: Ss can talk more about houses in the future

III New lesson: (37 minutes)

Step : Pre-reading (12 minutes) * Vocabulary.

- solar energy (n): lượng mặt trời (situation)

- appliance (n): thiết bị, dụng cụ (synonym) = equipment

- wireless (n): vô tuyến điện, không dây (explanation)

- space (n): không gian vũ trụ (translation)

- motorhome (n): nhà lưu động ( có ô tô kéo ) ( picture )

+ Set the scene: T shows the picture of Nick and Phong then asks some questions

Who are they? Nick and Phong

What is Phong doing? He’s drawing

What is he drawing? A house in the future

T says: “ Yes, that’s right You are going to listen and read the dialogue between them

Step : While – reading (18 minutes) * Activity 1: Listen and read then check:

- T says: You’ll listen and read the dialogue - T gives the instructions: You look at the dialogue then listen to the tape and check your prediction - T turns on the tape twice

- T calls two good students to read again the dialogues

- T asks the others to correct - T corrects Ss' mistakes

- T gives the instructions: Read again the dialogue and check again your prediction

- Then T asks Ss to work in groups of One by one takes turns to describe what you can see outside the window of your future house The others tries to guess where your house is located - T models one

- T goes around to take notes then corrects

- T checks forms, meanings, use and the intonation + Form:

Positive: S + will + V + Obj

Negative: S + will not / won’t + V + Obj Questions: Will + S + V + Obj ?

+ Meaning: Translate the model sentences into Vietnamese

+ Use: We use “will + V” to talk about actions we think are likely to happen in the future

+ Intonation:

I will travel to the Moon by super car in the future
