English 7 – Teaching Plans – Unit 1: BACK TO SCHOOL Period 001: A TEST ROR REVISION Teaching date : /09/06 HOW TO LEARN ENGLISH 7 I/ Put the verb in brackets into the correct tense: 1/ She ( stay ) at home last night ? 2/ Where you ( go ) this morning ? 3/ I often ( swim ) in the summer. 4/ They ( not travel ) to London next week . 5/ At the moment we ( speak ) French to our friends. II/ INTRODUCTIONS: PROGRAM CONTENTS HOW TO LEARN THEM 1. The textbook : 16 units for 6 topics a. personal: Information friends; House and home b. Education : School facilities and activities; School children’s life c. Community : Place in the community; Neighborhood d. Health : Physical comfort; Healthy living e. Recreation : Sports and games; televition and radio programs f. The world around us: Geography of Vietnam and South East Asia; People and places 2/ Exercise book : Many exzercises are very good; Sts must complete all of them. -Please study English words well -Practice structures or language functions from each unit. Try to study 4 skills : listening, speaking, reading and writing. -Techniques for prtacticing those four skills : asking and answering; pairwork; matching; true or false; making a survey; gap-filling;…………. * / Requirement for learning English well: Students should have 3 notebooks : grammar book, vocbulary book, and exercise book. It is good for them to have a tape to listen the lessons at home previously. Students should use English in class as much as possible. Students ought to watch or listen to English on television. That can make them improve their English easily. Students have to do and learn all exercises in the textbook and exercise book. Teacher can mark on sts’ exercises books. Language contents : Grammar: Review the kinds of questions Vocabulary : STILL, TOO, SO 3. Techniques : ask and answer; pairwork; elicitation 4. Teaching aids : picture; cassette player 5. Objective s : By the end of the lesson , sts will be able to greet everyone in English ; Ask and answer the questions about other health or daily work 2. 2.Language contents : Grammar: Revising the ways of greetings Vocabulary : NOT BAD ; PRETTY GOOD 3. Techniques : ask and answer; pairwork; elicitation 4. Teaching aids : picture; cassette player, extra-board 5. Time : 45 minutes 6.
