In contemporary society, English has an important role to play in thedevelopment of the global economy English is chosen to become the commonlanguage in the world to help people bridge the language barrier People use English

to communicate and reach agreements to exchange goods with each other Englishbecomes an effective and indispensible tool for human to integrate into the worldeconomy Viet Nam is in the process of integration into the world economy, soEnglish is an important condition to carry on that process English presents in everyaspects of economy, especially in the international trade When a person does theinternational trade, they are needed to arm with good commands of English as theyhave to work with many foreign partners Being aware of the importance of usingEnglish at work, Thuongmai University has created an opportunity for students toput the knowledgement into practice through an internship I would like to report

my internship in NTD TIET CO., JSC This is the report that I write about myprocess of working in NTD in 4 weeks Because of the limited time and myqualification, it may include some mistakes I hope that you can give me somesuggestions that I can improve my report

Responsibilities of each department:

- General Director is responsible for all business activities of the companyincluding: proving and executing the company’s business strategies; operating,

making decisions and solve daily problems that occur in the company; preparing

and implementing comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement;

assessing the operational situation of the departments to adjust plans timely

- Human Resources Department is involved with recruitment, personneltraining, compensation and benefits; resolving complaints to meet the requirementsand strategies of the company; managing records, curriculum vitae of all employees

in the company

- Accounting Department is responsible for making payments, processingincoming payments and accounting economic operations At the end of each month,accounting department has to prepare financial reports and pay salaries for allemployees

- Financial Department is in charge in monitoring the day-to-day financialoperations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions;making contracts with outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking,investments, and other financial needs as necessary; research and analyze financialreports and market trends to coordinating with the relevant departments to plan thecompany's annual and long-term financial plans

- Sales Department is responsible for designing and implementing a strategicsales plan that expands company's customer base; ordering goods both fromdomestic and foreign suppliers; building and promoting strong, long-lastingcustomer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs;identifying emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of newproducts and competition status

- Technical Department is responsible for designing and managing websites,managing intranet systems, handling problems that occur on websites andsupporting other technical requirements on computers

- Import – Export Department is in charge in performing duties related toimport and export including declaration, customs clearance for shipments, contactcourier forwarder companies such as Fedex, TNT… Beside, import – exportdepartment also perform logistic tasks including tracking goods; transporting goods

to the company's warehouse and delivering goods to customers

NTD Technical and Industrial Trading Joint Stock Company is a provider ofequipment, solutions and technical services to customers in industrial,environmental and energy manufacturing industries Main business activities of thecompany include:

- Trading industrial equipment through importing and exporting equipment,providing technical solutions and services to customers in industrial, environmentaland energy production

- Supplying industrial automation equipment for industrial, environmental andenergy production

- Supplying equipment and machinery for factories, processing zones andother companies

- The company also implements power projects to automate the future as well

as bring sustainable economic value to customers

The table shows the business result of NTD TIET CO., JSC in recent 3 years

It is clear that NTD witnessed an upward trend from 2017 to 2019 In 2017, whenthe company was established for 5 years and went into stability, the profit is over 4billion VND In 2018, the company continues to expand its market, so the totalrevenue increase by 1.37 % However, there was a decrease in the profit after tax ofthis year as the company had to invest in replacing and upgrading the company’smachinery In 2019, with the efforts of all employees in the company, the totalrevenue reached nearly 1.43 times and the profit reached 1.47 times higher than

2018 With this upward trend, NTD is believed to have further strides in the future

2.2 Internship process

In my internship, I worked full-time from Monday to Friday with timeline:

 Morning: from 8:30 a.m to 12 a.m

 Afternoon: from 13:30 p.m to 17:30 p.m

I would like to report my activities during 4 week which I did at NTD JSC asthese following tables

Firstly, at the beginning of my internship, I found it difficult to declare on theVNACCS software Most of the relevant documents are written in English and theyinclude many jargons in export and import field I did not remember all of thesejargons so I had to translate it into Vietnamese to get information to fill into thedeclaration form

Secondly, when I was asked to scan document for the company, I feel veryconfused as I have never used this machine before I had to ask for help from mycolleague, and she constantly guided me how to use such kind of these machines Ittook me for a while to get familiar with these machines, and after that I can usethem competently

Another challenge I have to face up is that I made many mistakes when Iprepared export and import documents I had to check the information and thefigure on the proforma invoice and compare them to match with the information andfigure on the purchase order Due to my carelessness, I left some sections do notmatch with each other and this led to wrong figure in commercial invoice Afterreviewing comment from my supervisor, I realized my mistake and corrected itconstantly

2.3.2 Personal experience acquired

Having worked in NTD TIET CO., JSC for 4 weeks, I can acquire manyknowledge and experiences for myself.

Firstly, this is an opportunity for me to put my knowledge that I learn inuniversity into practice Through my internship, I can understand full process ofcustoms clearance in reality Now I can prepare export and import documents aswell as do customs declaration myself and know what I need to do when I docustoms clearance

Secondly, working in NTD helps me to improve my English skills With thechances to contact regularly with foreign suppliers, my writing skills are improvedgreatly I also can improve my translation skills because I often translate documentsinto Vietnamese to do customs declaration Besides, I can widen my vocabularywith many jargons used in export and import field

Finally, I am armed with some soft skills thanks to the help of my colleague.She guided me how to use some machines such as printer and scan machine that Ihave never done before These skills are very helpful and now I can do such workquickly and competently

In conclusion, having a chance to work on NTD TIET CO., JSC make merealize my shortage With the help of my colleagues, I can learn many realitylessons and accumulate many value experiences These experiences can help me tohave a head start when I embark on my career prospect
