INTRODUCTION Nowadays, accurate and timely updates of advanced technologies and developments in science and technology are an important basis for the development of a business To compete, companies out the world market During my time at Phuong Chi Software Limited Company I had the opportunity to study, research and learn more about the company's working environment The summary report is made on and development Phuong Chi Software Limited Company is organized by Business Process Outsourcing Business process outsourcing (BPO) is a subset of outsourcing that involves the contracting of the operations and responsibilities of a specific business process to a third-party service provider Originally, this was associated with manufacturing firms, such as Coca-Cola that outsourced large segments of its supply chain BPO is typically categorized into back office outsourcing, which includes internal business functions such as human resources or finance and accounting, and front office outsourcing, which includes customer-related services such as contact centre services Often the business processes are information technology-based, and are referred to as ITES-BPO, where ITES stands for Information Technology Enabled Service Knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) and legal process outsourcing (LPO) are some of the sub-segments of business process outsourcing industry Phuong Chi Software Limited Company is a company specializing in remote data processing services for foreign partners including: - Website Content Management - 3D visual design - Design email marketing - Handling billing of customers - Manage marketing content through social channels as Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, etc Estabilished in 2103, with both office in Vietnam and the USA, the office in Vietnam was at Tim’s house, where the limitation of seats was only about 20 people Begining with employees In Vietnam, the company is named “Phuong Chi Software Limited Company” and “Cennos Incorporated” in the USA In the same year, their first customer was Ultra Outdoor, who hired them to find house manor suppliers across USA for their network Two month later, they had big customers are NFM and Lamps Plus, who are in top 500 enterprises USA These customers are still using their service until now In april 2014, they had another customer in top 500 enterprises USA and grow the company to 50 team members Next months, they had 100 team members In january 2107, the new office was located in Thanh Cong street, 1600 m2 of floors with 550 members And now, they have second office in G3 floor – 129 Building/ 51 Quan Nhan, Ha Noi Now, Wayfair is the bigest customer of the company Wayfair, Inc is an American e-commerce company that sells home goods 1.1.3 Organizational structure: Mark test and interview, I was very lucky to had been admitted to the company After being introduced to the company on the day of receiving the job, people who had been admitted are divided into departments based on the results of the test I am very fortunate to be part of a team for Wayfair that is the Extranet team Wayfair is one of the largest US furniture suppliers Formerly known as CSN Stores, the company was founded in 2002 and now sells many home furnishings and décor items Headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, Wayfair has offices and warehouses throughout the United States as well as in Canada, Germany, Ireland, and the United Kingdom In 2002, the duo founded Wayfair on a shoestring budget in a spare bedroom of Steve's house By carefully analyzing Internet search patterns and results, Steve and Niraj recognized a market opportunity to sell stereo racks and stands online What would grow to become the largest ecommerce destination for home furnishings and décor started with just one single website and soon grew to more than 250 standalone sites selling everything from barstools to birdhouses In 2011, Steve and Niraj took a giant leap and moved all of their ecommerce to create the ultimate home goods shopping experience The Extranet team is responsible for analyzing and processing customer which is specifically provided by Wayfair Then they posted the information on Wayfair's official online sales site The Extranet team is divided into two parts: Furniture and Renovation The members are young people who are passionate about their work There is one leader, one right hand, three QA and fifty team members in the team CHAPTER 2: INTERNSHIP IN PHUONG CHI SOFTWARE LIMITED COMPANY 2.1 The tasks assigned during the internship: Phuong Chi Software Company is a company with a young and dynamic working environment with young staffs When joined to the Extranet team, all employees are friendly, open and enthusiastic Everyone is close to age so it is easy to exchange and understand each other At the beginning of my internship, I was read the theory of work to which is given by my colleagues Since the work will be related to the field I had not previously exposed It is the e-commerce field such as SKU, kit, class, etc I need specialized vocabulary be able to work Besides, it also needs knowledge related to technology and working methods After being read to the theory, I was able to see the old colleagues working directly with customer items sent daily to be able to link the theory learned content with the practice Once I understood the process, I started to work and was divided into work by the QA The first thing people when they sit down at the desk is to look at the divide work page My team only does content related to the US and the UK has a separate team When the work has been divided, people will rely on it to determine their work The job requires a lot of English Since the tools are provided by a foreign partner, as well as when you make a name or marketing copy and feature for a product you must use your English language to see where the content is wrong In addition, when making the name or picture of the product you must understand the requirements that customers ask for For example: the name of a product that customers request to put in the form: Image 2.1 Customer’s requested name Here is the image that customers extremely important As a foreigner, the correct grammatical as well as vocabulary is the decisive factor to give the customer an accurate view of the product being sold Since my team mostly work in the US market, the vocabulary needs to be given more attention not to be confused between British English and American English After completing your work as well as during the work, QA will check your work part to ensure that you are doing the right job or the right process It's a day job that I have to This work needs a meticulous as well as a specialized English in the certain field 2.2 Difficulties and experience lessons: 2.2.1 Difficulties: The first time I work in a professional working environment, meeting new people and regulations, adaptation was one of my difficulties But in my company, I was instructed and motivated a lot I did not work for hours a day before, so I felt very tired in the early days But then I was able to adapt to the job 11 The second, and perhaps the most difficult is dealing with specialized words that I not know as well as have not learned in school Different jobs require different vocabulary The first thing I need to is to understand the meaning of the words Those who have worked in the previous team also have words that are difficult to explain to me because there may be no words in Vietnamese that have to go through a lot of work before understanding meaning of the word When I went to work in the company, I had more specialized knowledge of furniture which makes I feel very grateful for that Besides, British English and American English are also not easy Prior to my studies at the school, I had little regard for whether a word was British English or American English But when I enter the company, I had to distinguish all the words Finally, about the use of office computing, my job requires certain skills in Microsoft Excel When I was studying informatics at school, I did not pay much attention to it But when I came to work I realized that this is an indispensable skill when I want to in any environment In the process of working, I am still trying to improve these skills to complete the work as accurately and perfectly as possible 2.2.2 Experience lessons: After a month of working in the professional environment of the company, I learned a lot of useful lessons for myself The first is about the team works Teamwork is a very important skill that everyone needs to have the most effective job If you only know your work or your responsibility without paying attention to others, the efficiency of the work is very hard to achieve The second is office computer skills In the development as well as the revolution in technology, the fourth technology is taking place, the computer skills are indispensable soft skills If you can not use today's popular office software, it's very unlikely you'll be able to get your job done as quickly as you with modern technologies 12 The next is the problem of language ability, specifically here is American English In many organizations, people not need to distinguish British English and American English too detail But when it comes to working environments that require that, you still need some knowledge to be able to distinguish the two languages Finally, when you have difficulty or not understanding, you should consult the people who have worked before There should be no hiding attitude or doing by your way will but not sure how to it Perhaps many people enter a strange environment will feel shy so scared to question Here are some of the experiences I gained when I joined the company I am very happy to have new experiences that I have not experienced before I will continue to improve myself CHAPTER 3: USING ENGLISH IN BUSINESS 3.1 Using English in business In the past few years, Vietnam’s economy has strongly integrated into the global economy causing increasing demands of high-quality human resources that has not only a thorough understanding of specialized affairs but also good foreign languages and soft skills Nowadays, English plays an extremely important role in every enterprise It represents a key offering more opportunities to expand business scale, seeking more investors, partners and exploit new markets, etc from which improve profitability and production efficiency Operating mainly in the field of e-commerce and remote service delivery, Phuong Chi Co., Ltd currently uses English in all departments All partners of the 13 company are foreign people In order to serve the above the activities, the staff of the company are required basic English level They must an English test before entering the company So now all the employees in the company have a basic level of English making it easier to work with foreign partners The official website of the company is www.cennos.com designed and displayed in English language to help foreign partners to access and find information about the company's activities easily To this, the company has its headquarters and employees working overseas However, it should be said frankly that the number of employees who can communicate in English is relatively small Staffs are good at English mostly focused on higher positions such as team leader or supervisor This makes contacting or solving problems with foreign partners difficult when senior are absent Recognizing the negative realities that exist, in order to improve the English proficiency of employees throughout the company, Phuong Chi's management has orientated and planned training foreign languages besides the expertise for all employees in the company At present, the company has its own teaching staff in the company who are foreign employees working in the company At the same time, the company also has English clubs for its employees Accordingly, the courses will focus on teaching communication skills, negotiation, etc in English The company also hold English tests each year and at the end of the year If the employee's English language performance is reduced, penalties will be imposed, such as except 1.5% of total annual salary Conversely, if the results of the English test are good, the company will have incentive policies such as bonus, salary increases to employees 3.2 Suggested solutions to improve the quality of company’s workforce: After a working month, I would like to offer some solutions for companies to improve employees' skills as follows The company should organize compulsory English lessons for employees rather than volunteering as it is today Maybe held one or two times so it can both improve the language ability of staff and encourage staffs to actively 14 compete for learning Moreover, the company also has foreign faculty members, so the company should take advantage of that The company should focus more on English communication for employees to get the highest performance when employees exchange with foreign partners The next is in computer skills There are some new employees really hard to catch up with new rhythms due to the lack of knowledge as well as the computer skills needed to be able to so the company should have the traning lesson on this This will help new employees integrate into the work environment faster This is my ideas that may help a company improve employees' productivity and efficiency on work in the past month CHAPTER 4: THESIS TOPIC PROPOSAL Today English is an important skill in the workplace to gain access to the world market Therefore academic issues as well as practice in English is an indispensable aspect when everyone want to learn English in the best way Through the practice of one month at Phuong Chi Software Limited Company I have had many lessons for myself as well as realize in my own language that I have to cultivate a lot in the future English is increasingly popular and has become the main language of many different countries such as Singapor, Indonesia, etc English has so many characteristics of each country But the true source of English is still The United Kingdom and American I think that while studying, there are few people who not interest in distinguishing between British English and American English because few people think that they will not need that distinction Before I went to work at the company, I had never thought about the distinction between the two languages But when start to work I find it very 15 important So, I am very honors to show my topic cource proposal is “The difference between British English and American English and its importance” CONCLUSION Today English is the most popular language in the world and is a very important tool for people to communicate and learn from each other Today, students have learned to English at an early age, indicating that English is increasingly playing an important role in our lives When learning English at school, it's rare for a teacher to talk to students about slang words but we can not deny that the words are an integral part of any language as well as English When learning English, the most important thing is that the learner could communicate When learning slang you can easily communicate with others without being misunderstood or confused Young people today tend to use slang words a lot so this is a key to help you communicate more naturally Slang words are updated daily, so no one could teach you the whole words so you have to improve yourself and learn to improve your vocabulary But anyway, there are always common slang words that are used frequently in life
