khảo 404 LỜI GIỚI THIỆU Quyển sách tác giả Robert Layton giáo trình nhập mơn lý thuyết nhân học Tác giả đặt trọng tâm vào lý thuyết nhân học từ thập kỷ 1930 Tuy nhiên, tác giả có trình bày lý thuyết cổ điển Hobbes, Rousseau, Karl Marx Emile Durkheim vốn ảnh hưởng nhiều đến lý thuyết nhân học Tác giả đưa nhiều thí dụ cụ thể để giúp sinh viên người đọc hiểu rõ lý thuyết vốn trừu tượng Tuy người lựa chọn sách để dịch sang tiếng V iệt, nhận xét sách có ưu so với số sách lý thuyết nhân học khác đề cập đến vài lý thuyết đại lý thuyết trò chơi (game theory) sinh học xã hội (sociobiology) vốn số nhà nhân học áp dụng nghiên cứu Sinh học xã hội lý thuyết sinh học tiến hoá (evolutionary biology), phát triển từ thập kỷ 1970 trở lại M ỹ, để giải thích hành vi xã hội sinh vật (kể loài người) Lý thuyết trò chơi phát triển từ thập kỷ 1940 để giải thích hành vi người Lý thuyết trò chơi có ảnh hưởng khơng kinh tế học nghiên cứu quan hệ quốc tế (kể chiến tranh) mà nhân học Layton trình bày sách Theo đánh giá tơi, tác giả Layton thành cơng việc cho thấy đa dạng lý thuyết nhân học ba phần tư kỷ qua Vì tác giả nhà nhân học người Anh, nghiên cứu sâu nhân học nghệ thuật tổ chức xã hội thổ dân Úc, nên sách không tránh khỏi số giới hạn định, quy mô sách, ngoại trừ phần nhân học tri thức, tác giả Layton khơng trình bày nhiều nhân học văn hoá vốn phát triển mạnh M ỹ ảnh hưởng Max Weber đến sư phát triển nhân học văn hoá M ỹ M ột phân ngành nhân học văn hoá nhân học tâm lý bị bỏ quên, nhân học tâm lý phát triển mạnh M ỹ mà khơng phát triển nhân học Anh Trong việc dùng thí dụ để minh hoạ lý thuyết, tác giả Layton đưa nhiều thí dụ liên quan đến tổ chức xã hội xã hội tương đối đơn giản, đặc biệt cựu thuộc địa Anh Úc Phi châu, ơng chun thổ dân ú c Cụ thể hơn, chương cấu trúc luận (structuralism), tác giả không trọng nhiều đến ứng dụng cấu trúc luận vào việc phân tích biểu tượng hành vi người xã hội phức tạp đại (như việc phân tích tổ chức xã hội xã hội nông nghiệp phức tạp châu Á hay xã bội công nghiệp nay, việc phân tích hành vi tiêu thụ, lãnh vực quảng cáo kinh tế thị trường giai đoạn tồn cầu hố) Vì thế, sinh viên người đọc V iệ t Nam, R F Murphy (eds.), Evolution and
