How many people are there in your family? 2. What do they do? Are they busy? 3. Who works in your family? Who do the household? 4. Do you help your parents do household? 5. Is your family happy? Topic: Home Life T supplies vocabulary/phrase and then elicits Ss' idea to gives their meanings. 1. give a hand 2. mischievous /'mist∫ivəs/ 3. close-knit ['klousnit] 4. supportive [sə'pɔ:tiv] 5. share [∫eə] 6. secure [si'kjuə] 7. confidence ['kɔnfidəns] 8. attempt [ə'tempt] 9. well-behaved ['welbi'heivd] 10.trick [trik] T reads the vocabulary/phrase and asks Ss to repeat. T asks Ss to read the vocabulary/phrase to check their pronunciation. II. While you read (20’) Task 1 (textbook - page 14) T asks Ss to read the passage and the sentences given, work in pair, choose the best Ss' answers 1. help 2. playfully naughty or troublesome 3. mutually supportive 4. use something along with others 5. take responsibility together 6. not worried: untroubled by feelings of fear, doubt 7. belief in own abilities 8. to try to do something, especially without much expectation of success 9. behaving properly Ss note down, listen and repeat after T. T asks Ss to report about their friend's home life and then compare with their home life. T gives feedback. Expected answer: 1. b 2. c 3. a 4. b 5. a Task 2 (textbook - page 14) Work in pair Expected answer: 1. Very busy. They have to work long hours and sometimes they have to work at night. 2. She is always the first one to get up in the morning to make sure that her children leave home for school having eaten breakfast and dressed in suitable clothes. She always makes dinner ready before her husband comes home. 3. The daughter helps with household chores: she washes the dishes and takes out the garbage. She also looks after the boys. The farther sometimes cooks or mends things around the house at weekend. 4. She attempts to win a place at university. 5. Because they are very close - knit and supportive of one another. They often share their feelings and whenever problems come up, they discuss them frankly and find solutions quickly. Ss practice questions and answers. Ss go around and interview their friends and take notes. Ss report their task in front of class. Ss give their assessment about the reports. V.
