Where? -What grade is she in? Answer: She’s in grade 7, she goes to junior high school. And Hoa is Tim’s penpal Teacher explains new words: junior high school, penpal Today Hoa has a letter from Tim. He lives in America. He is in grade 7, too Task 1: Tell me what Tim write about?(scanning) While- readi ng Ss do task 1 after the first reading Tim write about American students’ activities at recess. Task 2 : What do students in America do at recess? Ss listen to the tape the second time.and answer -New words suggested by Ss: energetic, take part in, score goal, shooting some hoops, CD player, common. _Teacher explains them. -Teacher call on some ss read aloud the text. Task 3 : Ss do multiple choice exercise under the text. Teacher explains how to do the exercise. -Ss check answer by reading though the text -Ss compare answers -Teacher correct -Ss stand up, move around and do a survey( asking # of their friend) by asking questions: What do you usually do at recess? -Ss report -Teacher ‘s feedback&comments on ss’ work Post-reading -Teacher ask ss fill in the table: RECESS ACTIVITIES In Vietnam In America -2 ss do the task on the blakboard and compare with others. -Ss find common ways of relaxing at recess (eat, drink, talk with friends) Homework: 1/ What do students in America do at recess? 2/ What are the common ways relaxing at recess in your class? .
