Objectives Presenting the structures for asking for information about jobs and workplaces Developing listening and speaking skills II/. Language contents Grammar : talk about occupations what do / does + S + do ? where do / does + S + work ? Vocabulary : words related to occupations farmer , worker , doctor , engineer , teacher and tailor III/. Techniques Role play Questions and answer Silent reading Pair work IV/. Teaching aids Pictures ; role cards and cassette V/. Times : 45 minutes VI/. Procedures A Review ( 5’ ) exclamations and prepositions of position Presentation of the new lesson Section Steps Techniques & content B1 warm up Brainstorming 33’ ( 5’ ) Now tell me about jobs and workplaces of S.O e.g : what do I do ? where do I work ? then , e.g : what do you do ? what do you work ? e.g : what does your father do ? where does he work ? We will listen to a dialogue between Lan and Hoa . they are talking about jobs and workplaces ( two times ) - T ask Ss if there are difficult or new words , and explains then if there are any e.g : grow raise love + V-ing vegetables , cattle , on the farm Practice Sts listen and repeat after the tape controlled ( class split in half to play 2 roles ) ( B 1 ) Silent reading ( 10’ ) Pair work ( practicing the dialogue in pairs and answering the questions ) ( page 33-34 ) Teacher’s correction and further questions Some pairs perform before class Further T show 2 pictures ( page 33 ) ( 13’ ) and asks Students to speak them Teacher asks Sts to use the structures : what do / does + S + do ? what do / does + S + work ?
