GIÁOÁNANH8 Ngo Quyen Unior High School ĐÀO ANH LONG WEEK 1 REVIEW - INTRODUCE THE SUBJECT AND PERIOD 1 METHODS OF LEARNING I/ Objectives: By the end of this lesson, Ps will be able to review some old knowledge, know about the subject and methods of learning. T also tells Ps how to prepare for the new lesson and what are necessary in learning. II/ Language contents: 1/ Vocabulary: (review) 2 / Structures: (review) III/ Technique: Chatting IV/ Teaching aids: Textbook V/ Procedures of teaching: Activities Contents Warm up : Chatting to review some tenses Ps have learnt in 7 form especially the simple past tense T: Now ask your friends and take notes. T: Tell the class about your friends’ holiday. T introduces the textbook and methods of learning. T tells Ps some requirement. What do Ps have to prepare at home? And how do they do them? T tells Ps some ways of learning English. Ps listen How are you today? Did you have a beautiful summer holiday? Where did you go on the summer holiday? Affirmative: S + Ved/ V2 Interrogative Did + S + inf Negative: S + didn’t + inf There are 18 units in the textbook, each unit contains 7 sections and 6 periods for each unit In the first semester, Ps have to learn 8 units and have tests as following: - two forty-five-minute tests / a semester - 1 fifteen minute test / a semester - one semester test / at the end of the semester Some requirement : Ps must prepare lessons at home so that Ps will be able to understand new lesson easier. What do Ps have to prepare? - Vocabulary: Ps must look up for the meanings of all new words which they don’t know the meanings. - Ps must read passage, dialogue before going into classroom and do the exercises (no matter how much they can do). - Practicing: Ps must practice with friends self-consciously, especially in pairs or in groups. - Ps can turn to the teacher for correct sentences or vocabularies at any time. - Some ways of learning English: • Practicing at every time, about everything. • Don’t worry about making mistakes. • Speak as naturally as you can. • Don’t be shy • The more you practice the better your English will be. Ps answer about activities in their free time. Getting started: Asking ps to look at the pictures and talk about activities of these groups of friends. Ps may practice in pairs, using the suggested questions beside Pre-listening: T : Do you have any friends? Yes / No. What about Hoa? T gives Ps task 1 for listening While-listening: Task 2: Listen again, notice the pronunciation and find out new words T teaches some new words Task 3: Ps practice in pairs to read the dialogue. Post-listening: Getting feedback : Ps read the dialogue to the rest of the class. Pre-reading : Task 4 Read the passage silently to answer the questions beside with T or F While-reading: Task 5: Read the passage again and answers the questions in your books. Ps work in groups to answer and write the answers on the OHT T gets feedback: Show the answers on the OHP and corrects mistakes.
