Date : 22/8/2015 WEEK : Period : UNIT 1: HELLO Lesson 1( A 1, 2, 3) I.Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: - Greet and self-introduce, using Hello/Hi. I’m + name. - Vocabulary: hello, hi. - Sentence pattern: + Hello. I’m ./ Hi. I’m . II. Method and teaching aids: - Total physics response (TPR). - Teaching aids: recording, crayons, piece of paper for chant. III. Procedure. 1.Warm up: • Teacher: - Greet class. - Introduce name : using “Hello.I’m + name” - Introduce new subject. • Pupils: - Greet teacher. 2.New lesson: *PRESENTATION. Activity : Look,listen and repeat. • Teacher:- Have pupils turn their book page 6. - Ask pupils the names of the characters and what they say. - Explain the difference between Hi and Hello. + Hi is very formal. Pupils can use with friends but not withan adult,e.g. a teacher. + Hello is also informal and friendly but more formal than Hi. It can be used with teachers and other adults. - Show the picture and elecit the characters in the picture an what they are saying. - Let pupls listen and repeat the new words, sentences after the teacher. - Ask pupils to write down. - Call some pupils to read the new words, sentences before te class. • Pupils:- Look at the pictures and listen. - Listen carefully and repeat. Write down. Read aloud. *PRACTICE. Activity : Point and say. • Teacher:- Have pupils look at the pictures. Ask them to identify the characters in the pictures. - Ask pupils repeat the phrases a few times. - Call on a pair and ask them to pretend to be Nam and Mai to act out the greeting exchange. - Call on more pair to act out Miss Hien and Nam, following the same way with Mai and Quan. Check pronunciation. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. • Pupils: Look at the pictures and identify the characters in the pictures. - Practise in pairs. Activity 2: Point and say • Teacher: Have pupils look at Pictures. Ask them to identify the characters in the pictures. Use flashcards to teach the question and answer in the speech bubbles. Have pupils repeat the phrases a few times. Peter: What’s your name? Phong: My name’s Phong. - Tell ps that they are going to practise asking and answering questions about one’s name - Point to each character in the picture and elicit his/her name and the words to fill the gaps. - Write the whole sentences on the board. • Pupils: Have ps repeat the sentences a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Ask ps work in pairs. - Call some pairs practice in front of the class. - Check ss’ mistake when necessary. - Model: Call on a pair and ask them to pretend to be the characters to act out the exchange.
