Trang 5Toppic 1: Discribe the lastest technological item you often use at home or work.
The lastest technological item I often use at home or work is my computer I got it three years ago and it cost one thousand My computer is manufactured Dell and it gives me the benefits not only in studying but also I working.
First, my computer can hell me to type document or do caculation exactly.
Second, when my computer connected to internet, it becames an unlimited container of information I can read book, save data and search
information concern with my work or study I can exchange ideas with my friend, my coworker through email It help to broaden my knowledge in many fields Nowadays, we are able to stay at home to take part in online courses This in really convenient.
Finally, with my conputer I can listen to music, see a film or play game after hard work This make me relax.
In conclusion, my computer is very useful and I like using it very much.
Toppic 2: Discribe a technological item you have that is important to you.
I think a computer is the most useful machine to me It is a wonderful invention that can be used for many different kinds of work It also gives me the benefits not only in studying but also in working.
First, a computer can help me to write something or do calculation fast and exactly.
Second, when a computer is connected to internet, it becomes an unlimited container of information I can read book, save data and search
information concern with my work or study I can exchange ideas with my friends, my coworker through email It helps to broaden my knowledge in many fields Nowadays, we are able to stay at home to take part in online courses This is really convenient.
Finally, with a computer I can listen to music, see a film or play games after hard work This makes me relax However, a computer harms
my health and wastes my time if I abuse it There are the disadvantages of having a computer.
Thus I have to use a computer logically to gain the best result in my work It is very useful for me.
Toppic 3: Talk about one way have used to keep fit and healthy.
If you want to have good health, you should follow these pieces of advice:
First, you should eat healthy food: lots of fruits, vegetable, fish and drink enough water everyday The Japanese eat a lot of fish so they have
a long life You should also eat less red meat and fast food because they may cause heart diseases and increase the cholesterol in your blood Fruits and vegetables not only bring you lots of vitamins and minerals but also help you have a better immune system.
Second, you should exercise everyday by choosing a suitable sport such as jogging, tennis, badminton, swimming If you don’t have much
time you just need to do morning excercises regulaly Playing sport not only keep you fit and healthy but also help you relax as well.
Finally, you need to have a regulaly check up health If you have any problem with your health, you should go to the doctor immediately
before it gets more serious You should visit the doctor regulaly in order to find out any diseases you may have, so that you have a better chance to get rid of it
In short If you take this advice you will have good health.
Topic 4: Talk about a job you have done or know about.
I should say I have a job of my dream Actualy, I’m working as an officer for Ha Noi department of Information and communication It is comfortable working condition such as I have modern equipments, oversea business trips, monthly training My coworkers are very friendly They tell me jokes and make me lough My manager is very nice, too He treat us very well and he gives bonus if we work effectively.
I can get a salary every 3 years I go to work by motobike and I start work at 8 a.m and finish work at 5 p.m At work, I type ducuments, make policies and reply all questions of people I think it is my good job and I like my job very much.
Topic 5: Describe your favorite form of transportation.
I should say I like travelling by motobike most for two reasons:
First, Because it is very convenient, I can stop or go anytime I want or anywhere I can I don’t have to depend on a fixed time table like
travelling by plane, bus or train A part from that, motobike is really suitable with traffic situation in VN There are a lot of traffic jams in most of big cities like in Ha Noi.
The second reason why I like travelling by motobike is that it is very economical As you know, the price for most kind of motobikes are
affordable to most of people In addition, the motobike doesn’t use a lot of fuel so that I don’t spend a lot of money on petrol The maintenance cost is not very high, it is about 1 milions dong each time.
Although I like travelling by motobike for these reason, I still see some disadvantages for example, It is not very safe and it is not very comfortable when I travel in the rain and in the sun.
For the two reason with economical and convenient, motobike is still my favorite form of transportation.
Topic 6: Describe a big city/town you know well.
There are going to tell you about the city I know very well Do you inViet Nam, there are a lot of big cities, such as HCM city or Da Nang
or Vung Tau or Hai Phong and Ha Noi, but the city I know very well is Ha Noi because I have been living here about 30 years.
On the plus side I can see that HN has a lot of advantages First, HN has very good infrastructure You can see, there are a lot of good hospitals and schools around in HN Apart from that, HN has a lot of entertainment centers for people to relax afer working hard The second advantage is that, it has good job opportunites because there are alot of companies or factories and offices in HN The last advantage
of HN is that it has good communication with the world outside There are a lot of embassies, cultural centers and many foreigners come to
HN to work, to study and to visit.
However the minus side is so clear HN has very big population and this lead many problems Firstly, there are many traffic jams espicial in rush hour Secondly, HN has polluted enviroment which is caused by too many vehicles And finally, HN has a plenty of social evils such as
of robbery, theft, murder, kid napping and so on
So weighing everything up, I think HN has a lot of advantages, therefore I like HN very much.
Topic 7: Difficulties of living in the place where you are living now.
The place where I’m living now is Ha Noi Although there are a lot of advantages, I still recognize many disadvantages.
The first disadvantage is pollution and noise pollution which comes from a lot of construction site everywhere in HN Another reason is that, there are many roads with a lot of cars and motorbikes.
The second disadvantage is infrastructure which is too old and not convenient enough Infact, most of buildings, roads or schools were built
a long time ago, examples 20 or 30 or 40 years ago In addition, there are few play ground for children, few entertainment centers and a lot
of traffic jams.
Last but not least, the service in HN is not very good and very expensive In fact, the roads were very dirty with a lot of rubblish and the electricity supply is not constant Apart from that, the cost service is very expensive, for example you have pay 1 million a month to keep car or about 300 thousand dong a month to keep a motobike.
Trang 6In conclustion there are a lot of difficulties of living in HN However my family and my friends lived here and worked here That right, I
prefer living in HN.
Topic 8: Talk about a school subject you liked when you were younger.
When I was a pupil at high school I studied physics for 3 years and I liked this subject very much It is a natural science In this subject I studied mechanic, electrical engineering, photonic, thermal and so on I was taughr by a female teacher He was about 40 years old He was tall and thin, very kind and fun To study physic, I need some books and equipments so that I learned theory and did experiment There are 2 reasons why I like physics.
Firstly, this subject had a lot of experiments and I found them very interesting.
And secondly, physics explained all natural phenonmenon This make me to understand the world around me better.
In conclusion, physics was my favourite school subject.
Topic 9: Describe an ambition you had when you were young.
When I was young, I had an ambition to be a teacher I want to become a teacher because I think teacher is the best job in all of jobs.
Firstly, it is the best repected job in the world Teacher helps cultivate next generation for the country It is very crucial to the development
of the whole nation.
Secondly, Teacher has a lot of time to relax, to learn new things and knowledge.
Finally, If I am a teacher, I have a lot of experience and knowledge to teacher my children I think this is the most important problem for
me.
In conclusion, I like to become a teachet most.
Topic 10: Describe a project you had to do on your oun or with others as part of your studies or work.
I am an engineer and I graduated in 2005 at Ha Noi unversity of science and technology At the 5 th year, I have done a lecture to be graduated my lecture name is WCDMA technology overview This is a difficult topic because at that time noone has done this topic to finish this lecture I have to read the ducuments in English
There are two reason why I chose this lecture
Firstly, this is a new mobile technology and being applied in many coutries around the world.
Secondly, I want to have good a job in the mobile companies in VN after I graduated.

Topic 1: The means of transport you like/ hate most:
Among the public means of transport, I like the bus most because of the following reasons:
First, traveling by bus is cheaper than any other means of transport The cost of bus tickets for a month is about 50 thousand dongs, but the cost for going by motorbike, for example is much higher about 500.000 dongs per month
Second, going by bus is very convenient and comfortable You can sit on the bus without having to worry about the weather conditions or dirty and dangerous roads For example, if it’s rainy, you will not be afraid of getting wet If the weather is hot or cold you always feel warm because the bus is air- conditioned
Third, the bus is the best means to help reduce the traffic jam and pollution If many people travel by bus, fewer people will travel in private vehicles such as motorbikes or cars; thus, there will be fewer motorbikes or cars and we can reduce traffic jams in the rush hour Also, the environment around us will becomes less polluted because there is less smoke from cars or motorbikes
In short, the bus is the means of traveling I enjoy most because they bring us many benefits.

Finally, people in the country are more friendly and opener than people in the city because they live near each other People live together in a small village so they can talk to you everyday and help you when you are in need Every month, people in the countryside can have festivals and you can join and fell very happy.
In conclusion, there are many benefits of living in the country.
Topic 5: The disadvantages of living in the city:
Many people find it difficult and unpleasant to live in the city because of these reasons.
Trang 25First, the air in the city is getting more and polluted because the traffic is so heavy, the city roads are
in bad conditions and the population is really big There are fewer and fewer trees, lakes and rivers Second, the cost of living is much higher than in the rural areas People have to spend more money
on food, drinks, clothes and other activities like traveling and entertainment, while the salary has not been much improved.
Finally, life in the city is more dangerous than in the countryside because of night clubs, discotheques, casinos City people are easily attracted by social evils such as drinking, drug-taking
or gambling So, there are more crimes because some people don’t want to work but only want money to play.
In short, living in the city has many disadvantages so people have to struggle a lot to survive.

Topic 8: The most interesting place you have been to.
I have been to many places in the world and in Vietnam, but the most interesting place that I always remember is Nha Trang, the beautiful coastal city in Vietnam It’s wonderful to me because of these reasons.
Trang 26First, the scenery in Nha trang is ideal for us to go sunbathing We can swim in the blue and clear sea water or do sunbathing on the soft sand beach under the yellow and warm sunshine The air is
so fresh and pure
Second, the local sea food are fresh, delicious but not expensive For example, tourists can enjoy different kinds of seafood such as crab, prawn, lobster, seashell… Also, the people there are friendly, sociable and polite

Finally, though a foreign language we learn we can learn more about the people of that country, we know a lot about their culture and society and customs and traditions We can become friends of many people so our life is more interesting.

Driving motorbike help me to save time when moved on roads of Ha Noi capital in congestion status.
So it, I’d like drive rather than any other transport.
Topic 2: The most useful machine in the twentieth century
On my opinion, i think the most useful machine for a student is computer computer is a wonderful invention that could be used for many different kinds of work.It gives us the benefits not only in in studying but also in other works.

Trang 28when I have spare time, I spend more time watching television than any other activities Watching television can help me not only relax but also build me a huge knowledge of the open world.
Topic 4-5: The advantages of living in the country and the disadvantages of living in the city.
Although I was born and brought up in the country, I spent most of my time in the city; however, a comfortable life in the city has never appealed to me at all And the country with its advantages still has a call to me for good.
First, the fresh and clean air of the country makes you feel healthier How relaxed and pleasant you are when you can enjoy the pure air wafted with soft fragrance of areca and grapefruit trees in your garden! Therefore, you can take a stroll around the garden every morning and night The stifling and polluted atmosphere of a crowded city, on the contrary, makes you suffocated and annoyed It may breed neurosis and other fatal diseases to urban residents.
Second, living in the country may feel safer while in town, the city dwellers are in state of continuously being afraid of committing violent deaths caused by careless drivers or foolhardy motor-cyclists.
Third, if you have a poetic soul, you will find in the country a source of “divine inspiration” To my mind, nothing can be compared with the moonlight through foliages or the gorgeous slow of the sunset on yellow rice-fields I often see the moon shedding its light on the city but how desperate I feel! The moon itself has lost its natural beauty and it seems to me a pale disc hanging shamelessly
in a zone surrounded by angrily dazzling neon lights The silvery moonlight in the country has a mystic power to soothe your pains and sufferings and it does help you escape from the material world.
Fourth, if you are fond of gardening, you can spend your free time digging, planting and watering Gardening is my favorite hobby What a serene joy I feel when I watch my fruit trees growing amid the melodious twitters of birds and how sweet and delicious their fruit are when I taste my first successful result! I cannot help feeling sorry for the city dwellers who day and night have indulged themselves in debaucheries and can never enjoy a minute of pure bliss in the countryside Finally, in the country you can rest from the noise and bustle of the town Even though you have to get up early to catch buses to get to work in town, you can sleep better at night without being disturbed by deafening sirens of cars or machines running noisily all the time.
Topic 6:Talk about your weekend activities
Usually, I have twice free day at weekend It’s the best time in week with me On morning saturday I usually play sport with my friends We play football, table – tennis, rarely we ride a bicycle to go camping on somewhere near the city In the evening I have dinner with my friends
On sunday, I often getup later than other day and go to shopping after breakfast with my friends Some time, In the afternoon, I go to drink coffee or have offline meet with my old friends In the evening, after dinner I usually go out with my girl friend Sometime we go to cinema or visit our friends Sometime we stay at home to together Oh, that is great time with me and I always expected to weekend!
Trang 29Topic7:Talk about one of your hobbies
I have many hobbies, such as, playing football, game online, watching film and swimming However, I like playing Football best I love playing football and i love Manchester United football club I often play football with my friends in school yard in the afternoon Every weekend, i always stay at home for watching football on TV Perhaps, It's the reason that i still haven’t girl friend yet other hand playing football can bring good strength for me When playing in a football match I can improve team spirit in my mine In any events I and my fiends are always fair-play For this reason we have had more and more friends It’s so wonderful.
Topic 9: The importance of learning foreign languages
Now a day, it is very important to learn a foreign language because of these reasons:
First, learning a foreign language, English for example, helps us learn and get information a bout new things in the world we can read news paper; listen to the foreign radio channel to get information When we do research we can read many English books you need In the other hand we can watch many video which support your work from internet.
Second, it helps us feel confident when travel aboard we will easy to find the way to your hotel by read the road sign and ask some one on the street When foreign visitors come to VN we can talk with them easily.
Finally, though the foreign language we learn we can learn more about the people, culture, society and human of that country It helps us easier in business.
In conclusion, learning foreign language is the way to success in the integration period
Topic 5: The disadvantages of living in a city
Nowadays, more and more people are choosing to live in the city because there are many job opportunities and entertainment in the city However, there are many disadvantages of living in the city
This is because the people living in the city have a hectic lifestyle and the city is often flooded by criminal cases and pollution The air is much polluted as there are a lot of cars in the city The industry is rapidly developing in cities and many factories are being constructed which increases the rate of air pollution Therefore, air pollution in cities is very obvious when compared with the rural Other hand, most people living in the city have a very busy lifestyle They are too busy with their work that they do not have time to spend with their neighbours Other than that, there are tons of crimes happening every day Do you think so?
Topic expansion: Life in the city, compared with life in the country
In my opinion, urban life or rural life has its own advantages and disadvantages.
First, living in the city we may enjoy those benefits:
- Communication and transportation systems are better There are so many means of communication and transport that we can choose the ones we like best We can get in touch with a friend or talk to him by phone without having to go out of home.
Trang 30- Thanks to electricity network and running water, our material lives are more comfortable Supermarkets, markets and shops are found everywhere and we can buy anything we need providing that we can afford it.
- Urban life provides us with all sorts of entertainments: televisions, radios, movies, theatres, concerts and famous recreation centers.
- Living in town we can improve our knowledge easily by attending any schools, universities or evening classes where experienced teachers and professors are ready to satisfy our thirst for knowledge.
Besides its advantages, urban life also has its disadvantages:
- Our health is in danger: pollution by factories and heavy traffic may cause serious diseases to all of us.
- Evil influence upon the young generation by obscene video films is inevitable.
- Violent deaths happen regularly in such a crowded city with all kinds of vehicles.
On the contrary, rural life seems ideal to all of us, especially to the old.
- We can enjoy fresh, cool air and behold beautiful landscapes in the country.
- How safe and delighted we are when we can sleep a sound sleep at any time of the day without being disturbed by sirens of cars or by deafening noises from manufacturing factories.
- Our social lives in the country are easier: we can eat the food and vegetables we grow, the chickens and goats we raise The countrymen lead a very simple life and they are quick at mutual help in any case.
Apart from these advantages, living in the country we may meet lots of difficulties too.
- Communication and transportation are obstructed by lack of means of transport or by floods in the rainy season.
- Our knowledge is limited by being short of mass media.
- Our social and physical lives are not as comfortable as those in town because of lack of electricity and medical care.
In a nutshell, our love for town life or country life depends on our outlook and age
As for me, I always prefer rural life to urban life.

Where Did Soccer Originate?
There is great debate over when the first soccer game was played Many historiansbelieve that the first games involving kicking a ball were played by Chinese soldiers duringthe Han Dynasty over 2,000 years ago A similar game was played in Japan, Greece, and Rome
In some cultures, the ball symbolized the sun The purpose of the game was to capture “the sun” and ensure a good growing season
In medieval times, the European version only remotely resembled the game of soccer that exists today It was much more violent in nature, and involved two teams, each one as large as an entire town or community Historical records show that soccer was sometimes even played with a human head Tripping and biting were also allowed Before the 1800s, the game was outlawed throughout much of England The penalty for playing soccer was time in jail
In the 1800s, students in England’s colleges and universities became obsessed with the game once again This time, rules were established to keep control over the violence and the size of the teams However, every school had its own rules, which made it hard for them to compete against each other The Football Association was established in 1863 in order to set down rules and govern the matches between the different teams Six years later, the game officially became a “no hands” sport
The sport also gained popularity in the British navy Sailors brought their soccer balls on board and played the game in their free time Young people around the world showed up to watch the sailors play and then went home and organized their own teams By the twentieth century, the whole world was playing soccer In 1908, soccer became an Olympic sport This helped make soccer the most popular spectator sport in the world The first World Cup was held in 1930 in South America Every four years, the top professionals compete to bring home the World Cup trophy
