Procedures: T’ACTIVITIES STS’ACTIVITIES Warm up : (chatting) (5ms) - T asks sts some questions: T: Nam, how old are you ? T: When’s your birthday? T: Have you ever celebrated your birthday? where? Outside or at home? how do you celebrate them? T: What did you do at your party? T: Have your parents had a wedding anniversary? Sets the scene: In our country people often have parties to celebrate silver anniversaries., golden anniversary, birthday.Today we are going to see how some parties in The United States are. PRESENTATION: -T asks sts to look at the picture and answer the question Answer Nam: I’m sixteen years old Nam: look at the pictures and answer the questions: Listen and answer the question 1. What is the relationship between the people in the pictures? 2. What are they celebrating? -T explains some words, phrasals to the sts Guides ss to read the new words II. While you read (20ms) Sets the scene: You are going to read - The people in picture 1 are friends and the people In picture 2 belong to a family. - The children in picture 1 are celebrating a birthday party and the people in picture 2 are celebrating a golden wedding anniversary Take note + Silver anniversary = silver wedding The 25 th anniversary of a wedding + Ruby anniversary = ruby wedding The 40 th anniversary of a wedding +golden anniversary = golden wedding The 50 th anniversary of wedding + Diamon anniversary = diamon wedding: the 60 th anniversary of wedding TASK 1 Listen about how American people celebrate birthdays and wedding anniversaries. Then you do the tasks that follow. - T gets Ss to read the passage silently and then do Task 1. Calls ss to give the answers on the poster or on the bb Gives feedback Sets the scene: In each of the sentence ,there is one word ,not true according to the reading passage.Underlined the wrong word and correct one Asks ss to work in pairs .
