Unit 4: Our Past. Getting started, listen and read I.Objectives: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to tell the activities which people used to do in the past. Morale: Educate students to remember about our past. II- Language contents: 1- Vocabulary: Look after, equipment, folktale, traditional. 2- Grammar: Past simple. 3- Structure: S + used to + V-inf. III- Techniques: Ask and answer drill, fact or opinion, pairwork, groupworks. IV- Teaching aids: Text book, cassette, picture, poster. V- Time: 45ms. VI- Procedures: Teacher and students’ activities Contents 1- Warm- up: (Getting started) T asks Sts to look at the picture on page 38 and write the names of the things that do not belong to the past. Call Sts to go to the board and write. T checks and corrects. 2. Presentation: a) Set the sence: T sets the sence the dialogue between Nga and her Grandma. b) Pre-teach Vocabulary: * Look at the picture. Write the names of the things that do not belong to the past. Answer: - The T.V - The radio - The mobile phone - The lighting fixture - Modern clothing/ school uniforms Nga and her Grandma is telling about Nga’s Great grandma and what did they do in the past. * Vocabulary: Look after (v) ch¨m sãc (synonym) (example) (example) Equipment (n) thiÕt bÞ Folk tale (n) chuyÖn d©n gian (translation) (explanation) * Checking vocab: (Rub out and remember.)
