THE TOPIC : HEALTH Period 1: SPEAKING I.Objectives :Sts will be able to make suggestions , make and respond to formal requests , offers and promises II.Language contents 1.Vocabulary : The learnt words 2.grammar : - Modal verb : will + V - Can / Could + S + V ? - so as to / in order to + V III. Warm up : Ask and answer - T has some questions use “ in order to or so as to “: EX : T : Why do we have to obey road rules ? Sts : We have to obey road rules so as to avoid accidents on the roads 1. Activity1 : Make and respond to requests, offers and promises - sts work in pairs to complete the dialogues a. A: It’s very hot in here. ( Request ) ? B : All right . b. Teaching aids : small boards , book IV. Techniques : ask and answer , pairwork , groupwork , scaning V. Steps of Teaching : 1. A woman was knocked down when shecrossed the street at a zebra crossing .Many people stopped to offer their help.A policeman arrived and asked a young man to telephone for an ambulance . While waiting for the ambulance, the policeman and some people tried to stop the bleeding . They used a handkerchief to cover the wound , then put pressure on it and held it tight . They tried to talk to her in order to keep her awake . After about ten minutes, the ambulance arrived and the woman was taken to the hospital . 1. When did the accident happen ? => The accident happened yesterday 2. Where was the woman knocked down ? =>The woman was knocked down at a zebra crossing . 3. Who telephoned for an ambulance ? => A young man telephoned for an ambulance . 4. What did they do to stop the bleeding ? =>They used a handkerchief to cover the wound , then put pressure on it and held it tight . 5. What did they try to talk to her for ? => They tried to talk to her in order to keep her awake 6. How long did the ambulance arrive ? => The ambulance arrived after about ten minutes - Some pairs practice in front of class - T has the answers 3. Teaching aids : small boards , book IV. Techniques : ask and answer , pairwork , groupwork V. Steps of Teaching : 1. warm up : correct the inappropriate words - T has a poster - T asks sts to read and correct the inappropriate words - Sts work in groups - sts read aloud the answer 1. When you get burns you should ease the pain with warm water packs . 2. When a person gets shocked , don’t give him (her) any soft drink or alcohol 3. In a faiting case , you should give the patient a glass of wine when he / she revises . 4. You should cover the wound of a dog bite with a clean , dry shirt . 2.
