When do you have English classes ? 4. How much time do you spend on English ? 5. Which subjects do you need to improve ? 6.What do you do to improve your English ? 2. Activity1 : Talk about study habits - sts work in pairs to ask and answer their schedule ( sts can use the questions that teacher asked in the part warm up) - T guides how to practice - sts practice in front of class - T corrects their pronunciation 3. Activity 2 :Give advices and instructions - T asks :”. What do you do when you have a toothache ?” - sts answer : “I go to the dentist “ - T guides how to give an advice - T has some situations 1. Tim’s spanish pronunciation is so bad ( practice speaking more often ) 2. I’m always have difficulty getting up ( go to bed earlier ) 3. What a beautiful view ! ( take a photograph ) 4. My sister has a bad cold ( stay at home ) 5. My first semester report is not good ( study harder next semester ) - sts work in pairs to practice - T calls some pairs to practice in front of class and corrects their pronunciation 4. Teaching aids : small boards , book IV. Techniques : ask and answer , pairwork , groupwork , scaning V. Steps of Teaching : 1. Warm up : Word families - T has a poster Shelf Math Couch English Exam Table Semester Vietnamese Teacher Physics Armchair Report card -T divides class into two groups - T asks the groups to find out three word families - The groups have the answers - T corrects : Education : Teacher , Exam , Report card , semester Subject : Math , Physics , Vietnamese , English Furniture :Couch , Table , Shelf , Armchair 2.Activity 1: Reading comprehension - T has a passage on sub-board - T explains some new words - Sts read and complete the passage ( groupwork ) - Sts use the words in the box In the twentieth century with remarkable increase scientific and other knowledge Take not increase own special need words which special dictionaries have to be made for a group of words . There are some very large dictionaries which contain s all the words in the English language , but they are not convenient to use. They are too heavy and take up too much room Students of foreign language need a dictionary which contains all the words in common use in their own language and the ones they are trying to learn -The groups have the answers - T corrects - Then T asks some sts to read aloud the completed passage to check their pronunciation - Next T has some questions about the content of the text - sts work in pairs to ask and answer the questions 1. Teaching aids : small boards , book IV. Techniques : ask and answer , pairwork , groupwork V. Steps of Teaching : 1. Warm up : Change adjectives into adverbs 1. good -> 2. perfect -> 3. fast -> 4. careful -> 5. fluent -> 6. bad -> 7. terrible -> 8. happy -> - T asks sts to read aloud the adverbs - Sts remind the positions of them 2. Activity 1 : Adverbs of manner - T has some exercises and sts work in groups to practice *choose the right word in brackets to complete each sentence 1. Teaching aids : small boards , book IV. Techniques : ask and answer , pairwork , groupwork V.
