GRAMMAR PRACTICE I. Objectives Help the students to review vocabulary and grammar from unit 6 to unit 8. II. Language contents: + Grammar: - Present simple tense. - Present progressive tense. - Prepositions. - Question words. - Must and Mustn’t. - Can and Can’t. + Vocabulary: Review vocabulary and some basic sentences. III. Techniques: group works, pair works, ask and answer. IV. Teaching aids: lesson plan, textbook, pictures, and exercises. V. Time: Allotted 45 minutes. VI. Procedures: 1. Warm up (3’) sing a song 2. Check up (4’) write vocabulary& talk about the road signs 3. New lesson (38’) Teacher and Ss’activities Contents 1.Activity 1: The simple present. - T asks Ss to repeat some verbs of talk 1. Present simple tense. + Form: about means of travelling. Ss: “go, travel,walk and question word How”. _ Notice the use of the tense: to express an everyday action. +Use? + adverbs? - Ask Ss to do Ex1/p92. - Ss work pairs to do. - Give feedback-> check. 2. Activity 2: The Present progressive tense. - Review of formation: I am/ You, We, They are…., He/ She/ It is………+ Ving. . The Use : To express an action happening at the same time or around the time or around the time as we are talking. S + V(s/es). + Use: to express an everyday action. + Adverbs: - always/ usually/ often/sometime/ never… - every day/week/month/year. + Answer key: a, How do you go?/ I go to school by bus b, How does he travel to Hanoi? / He travels by plane. c, Do you walk to school? – No. I don’t walk to school. 2. The Present progressive tense. + Form: I + am + You/ They/ We + are + Ving He/ She / It + is + + Answer key: a, Minh is riding his bike. b, They are waiting for a bus. c, She is watching television. 3. Preposition. - Have Ss look at the picture and ask the question like this: “ What do you see in the picture?/ What is the girl doing?/ and the boy? - Ask Ss to read the list of words and give the meanings. 4. Question words: - Ask Ss to repeat some questions words and their uses they’ve learnt. - Ss repeat: Where/ Who/ What/ How/ How old/ When/ What time……. - Then asks Ss to do exercise 4/p93. -Ss work in pairs to do. - Give feed back/ correct. d.
