Nguyễn Thị Thu Thảo, BS Bùi Thế Thắng, BS Phạm Quốc Đạt, BS Lê Trần Hùng Background: Lumbar selective nerve root block (SNRB) is a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure routinely performed at 1A Hospital for treating chronic low back pain and radiculopathy. The aim of the procedure is to reduce pain by injecting local anesthetic andor corticosteroid around the affected nerve root. Despite its widespread use around the world, there is still limited evidence on the efficacy of lumbar SNRB in Vietnam. Patients and Methods: In this study, we conducted a retrospective study on 98 patients to evaluate the efficacy of lumbar SNRB in treating low back pain and radiculopathy. They were then followed up for pain intensity using VAS scores, functional improvement using MacNab criteria, and duration of pain relief. Results: We report a significant improvement in mean VAS leg score from 8,2 ± 1,73 to 2,08 ± 2,02 in 88 cases after SNRB. Mean VAS leg score at 6 months is 3,56 ± 2,93 (p
