tế đến Việt Nam đạt 6.847.678 lƣợt, tăng 13,86% so với kỳ năm 2011 Lƣợng khách du lịch quốc tế đến Việt Nam nhiều thuộc nƣớc: Trung Quốc, Hàn Quốc, Nhật Bản, Mỹ, Đài Loan, Campuchia, Malaysia, Úc, Thái Lan, Pháp [19] Trong đó, Úc ba thị trƣờng châu Á thuộc nhóm 10 thị trƣờng gửi khách nhiều tới Việt Nam, xếp thị trƣờng gửi khách gần với Việt Nam Thái Lan Số lƣợng du khách Úc đến Việt Nam có xu hƣớng tăng liên tục, trừ năm 2009 Trong năm, số lƣợng khách du lịch Úc đến Việt Nam tăng gần gấp đôi, từ 145.000 năm 2005 lên đến gần 290.000 năm 2012, nhiên lƣợng khách năm 2012 so với lƣợng khách năm 2011 tăng không đáng kể Hơn nữa, 05 năm gần đây, số lƣợng khách du lịch Úc du lịch quốc tế tăng liên tục mức trung bình khoảng 10%/ năm du lịch quốc tế nói chung chịu ảnh hƣởng khủng hoảng kinh tế toàn cầu [12] Mặc dù số lƣợng khách du lịch Úc không cao so sánh với nƣớc nhƣ Mỹ, Trung Quốc, Nhật Bản nhƣng theo thống kê Tổ chức Du lịch Thế giới năm 2010, tổng chi tiêu cho du lịch quốc tế khách du lịch Úc đạt 22,2 tỷ đô Mỹ, thuộc nhóm 10 nƣớc có tổng chi tiêu du lịch quốc tế lớn giới [15] Đáng ý, theo thống kê nêu trên, tính mức chi tiêu du lịch quốc tế trung bình tổng số dân (với dân số 22 triệu ngƣời) Úc vị trí đứng đầu giới với mức 1.014 la Mỹ/ ngƣời, gấp 4,5 lần Nhật Bản 21 lần Trung Quốc, nƣớc nhóm thị trƣờng trọng điểm du lịch Việt Nam Khách du lịch Úc vài năm gần lọt top 10 quốc gia có chi tiêu du lịch quốc tế bình quân đầu ngƣời lớn nhất, đặc biệt, năm 2012, du khách Úc đƣợc xếp thứ nhất, lƣợng chi tiêu khách Đức, Canada, Anh [14] Tuy nhiên, số 10 điểm đến yêu thích khách du
