services to individual customers II Responsibilities Exploiting capital in VND and foreign currencies from individual customers in accordance with regulations of the State Bank (SBV) and Sacombank of experienced the negative value of profit after tax It may result from the high inflation, leading to high value of cost of materials Afterwards, the bank witnessed a positive trend, with increasing Commercial Joint Stock Bank’s asset experienced a slight increase in comparison with 2020, from 455,581,057 million VND to 486,520,422 million VND Additionally, the asset of the bank increased debt-equity This will help the bank to build an optimized capital structure Overall, the capital structure’s trend is unstable The bank’s debt and equity both increase times in comparison from 2019 to 2020 In 2020, the bank both increase in short-term debt and long-term debt In 2021, while the equity went up significantly, the bank’s debt remained stable, especially long-term debt The bank Liquidity Current ratio is ratio that measures a bank’s ability to pay short-term debt obligations This index increased in the first period, from 1.61 to 1.92 In the first period, Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank had more current asset to cover its shortterm liabilities, which resulted from the profit that the bank had made in that year The ratio in the next period has dropped to 1.617 The current of the bank dropped slightly However, the current asset reduced remarkably, leading to the decrease of current ratio Solvency Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank’s debt ratio increased slowly from 0.46 to 0.51 between 2019 and 2020, only to falling to 0.42 in the next period The modification in the total debt ratio indicated that the bank now less depended on debt, meaning that lower risk involved and strong and long-term financial security for Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank Asset Management 33 In general, the total asset turnover experienced an increase trend over three years The first period increased from 2.53 to 2.71 in 2019-2020 In the next year, the bank somehow remained the ratio at constant rate, reaching at 2.65 It showed that the bank has well managed the asset effectively, developing the asset gradually Profitability The profit margin of Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank witnessed a gradual trend over the three year In 2019, due to the loss of profit, the profit margin was -0.02 In the next year, the bank performed increasingly, leading to the huge increase in profit margin to 0.02 In the following, the ratio kept going up to 0.04 Although the profit generated compared to revenue was not high, it is still considered good with the potential growth of profit margin CONCLUSION I OVERALL Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank with more than 30 years of experience and being in the top best banks in Vietnam is a very good place to help cultivate knowledge and learn Asking for more experience the internship to learn, support and find customers at the Individual Customer Department of Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank-Hanoi Branch This is a relatively difficult job for students that requires the person performing the work to be careful, know how to deal with customers and know how to negotiate and persuade with customers It is necessary to have patience and meticulousness when instructing customers Must check the customer's information accurately without errors, need to promptly report and store the customer's information The above job helps me to draw a lot of experience for myself in terms of trading, taking care and expanding customers Lessons on how to the job Through the internship period at the Individual Customer Department of Saigon Thuong Tin management I always learn experience skills from the members of the Individual Customer service and draw many lessons about skills for myself 36 Lessons on the attitude Knowledge, skills and attitude are three important factors in job success, but attitude plays the most important role Actively observing around, learning and learning at work is very important in the internship process During my internship, I always actively study, explore and research jobs, whether small or not in accordance with my expertise, thereby helping me accumulate more valuable experiences From there, it helps me to expand many relationships, improve my communication skills and realize my mistakes Along with that, it helps me to integrate into the work, the environment and feel to absorb the work faster In addition, I also learned a lot from the attitude and behavior with customers and learned a lot for myself II Achievement Sacombank's profit before setting up the scheme reached more than 10,600 billion dong However, due to the strong focus on increasing provision for risks and allocating project costs, pre-tax profit reached more than 2,900 billion VND, an increase of nearly 20% compared to the same period last year and reached 55.1% of the plan assigned by the General Meeting of Shareholders The operational safety indicators always comply with regulations and improve positively, especially the CAR coefficient always remains above 9%, ensuring a balance between operational safety goals and efficient exploitation of capital resources Sacombank's operation scale grew strongly, total consolidated assets reached more than 551,000 billion VND, up 5.8% compared to the beginning of the year Total deposits reached more than 493,000 billion VND, up 6.2% compared to the beginning of the year Credit balance reached nearly VND 415,000 billion, up nearly 7% compared to the beginning of the year The collection and handling of bad debts was accelerated, more than VND 12,000 billions of bad debts and outstanding assets were handled, bringing the bad debt ratio down to 1.22% ROA and ROE indexes increased positively, reaching 0.77% and 11.86% respectively Total income increased by 26.6% over the same period last year, reaching more than 11,200 billion VND In which, service revenue increased by nearly 85% with a large contribution from card services, insurance services and e-banking Labor efficiency improved, CIR rate reached 48.3%, down 8% over the same period 37 III Limitation Although Sacombank's bad debt ratio has decreased sharply, it is still at a high level The impact of the Covid-19 epidemic and the economic recession has slowed down the bad debt settlement process, which has been shown in the first months of this year when the bad debt ratio decreased much more slowly than other years In addition, bad debt becomes more "difficult" later on because bad debts that are easy to handle have been prioritized for handling first The same goes for accrued interest Easy-to-recovery debts are prioritized for handling first, so profits won't be significantly damaged (not only in the first months of 2022 but also data from 2020 to now also show Sacombank's accrued interest processing expenses insignificant compared to the size of the decrease in accrued interest) However, for accruals that are difficult to handle, this bank will be forced to record a large expense to withdraw these accrued interests and this affects profits However, the maximum time limit for allocating accrued interest to business expenses is up to 10 years from 2015 according to Sacombank's restructuring project, which also helps this bank reduce the pressure of withdrawing accrued interest, especially in the early years of restructuring As for the core business, although it has recorded strong growth in recent years, it should be noted that this growth has been achieved on a low base In terms of business performance, Sacombank is still far from returning to the level before merging with Southern Bank For example, credit business performance (net interest income/total credit size) is now only about half of what it was in the years before the Southern Bank merger CHAPTER PROPOSED DIRECTION OF RESEARCH I Rationale Capital is an important input to help businesses carry out business activities With banks, capital not only helps the bank carry out business activities but also is a source of profitable business by providing credit to businesses and the whole economy In the current period, banks are always competing to be able to survive and develop The problem for banks is how to mobilize idle capital in the economy Sacombank has 38 been trying to implement strategies to attract capital and use capital effectively Realizing the important role of deposit mobilization at the bank in the present time, I choose the topic: "Solutions to improve the efficiency of capital mobilization at Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank - Hung Dao Branch" as my topic research skills to be able to apply the knowledge gained from school as well as the knowledge gained from practice after the internship sessions at the unit II Research objective -
