Week 12 Period 22 FUN TIME I Objectives: * By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - identify some learnt words bell, pen, pencil, red, chips and fish - say the words bell, pen, pencil, red, chips and fish correctly - identify the letters they have learnt (I/i, E/e) - read the learnt words (chips, pen, pencil, milk) - Ss can develop some following competences + Communicative and collaborative competence:act 1,3,4 + Problem-solving competence: act 1,3 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2, 3,4 + Problem-solving and creative competence act *Language focus: - Sound: I/E - Vocabulary: bell, pen, pencil, red, chips and fish - Differentiated teaching: + Incomplete ss: can pronounce the name of the letter I/E in the words bell, pen, pencil, red, chips and fish + Well-completed ss: can pronounce the name of the letter I/E in the words bell, pen, pencil, red, chips and fish while listening II Materials: -Teacher’s: books, pictures, flashcards,CD -Students’: books, crayons III Method: -Communicative Language Teaching -Total Physical Response -Natural Approach -3Ps III Teaching activities: Activity 1: Warm up -Let Ss play the game “Air drawing” using the letters they have learnt Activity 2: -Content Circle and match Then say - Procedure: +Elicit the words indicated by the pictures and describe it +Draw Ss’attention to the pictures Elicit the words indicated by the picture Have them circle the correct words and match with picture Go around the class to offer help, if necessary +Tell Ss to point to the picture the word fish Ask them to listen and repeat the word + Repeat the same procedure with pen, chips, pencil, red Give further support to those Ss who find it difficult to the task + Correct pronunciation, if necessary Activity 3: -Content 3: Write andsay - Procedure: +Have Ss look at the pictures around the puzzle Ask them to identify the missing letters +Explain how to the activity Ss fill in each space in the puzzle with a letter to make a complete word + Have Ss the activity individually Go around to offer help if needed +Get Ss to check their answers in pairs Then ask some pairs to give their answers Point at each blank and pupils read aloud the letterneeded Give comments and confirm the correct answers + Call on some Ss to say the words in front of the class Activity 4: -Content 4: Let’s play - Procedure: + Divide class into two groups + Ask Ss of two groups play game + Congratulate the winner  Consolidation: - Content: Review the letter P/K and words (pasta, popcorn,pizza, kite,bike and kitten) - Procedure: + Ask Ss to answer the following questions: What have you learnt from the lesson today? What are the core values of the lesson?
