Week12 Period 22 FUN TIME I Objectives: * By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: -correctly spell and pronounce the words question, square, quiz, fox, ox and box -recognise the words quiz, fox, box, and question while listening -write the words quiz, fox, box and complete the sentence structures What’s he/ she doing?He/she is _(verb + ing)? Yes, there is./ No, there isn’t - Ss can develop some following competences + Communicative and collaborative competence:act 1,3,4 + Problem-solving competence: act 1,3 + Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2, 3,4 + Problem-solving and creative competence: act *Language focus: - Sound: Q/X - Vocabulary: question, square, quiz,box, fox, ox - Differentiated teaching: + Incomplete ss: can pronounce the name of the letter Q/X in the words question, square, quiz,box, fox, ox + Well-completed ss: can pronounce the name of the letter Q/X in the words question, square, quiz,box, fox, ox while listening II Materials: -Teacher’s: books, pictures, flashcards,CD -Students’: books, crayons III Method: -Communicative Language Teaching -Total Physical Response -Natural Approach -3Ps III Teaching activities: Activity 1: Warm up - -Let pupils play the game Bingo, using the words they have learnt Activity 2: -Content Rearrange the letters to make words Then say - Procedure: +Elicit the words indicated by the pictures and describe it +Draw pupils’attention to the letters under each picture Have them rearrange the letters to make the words Go around the class to offer help, if necessary + Show the picture and elicit the answer +Tell pupils to point to the and the word square Ask them to listen and repeat the word + Repeat the same procedure with the fox, the quiz and the box Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to the task + Correct pronunciation, if necessary Activity 3: -Content 3: Guess and write Then say - Procedure: +Draw pupils’attention to picture1 Ask them to describe the picture again +Write What’s she doing?She’s doing a on the board En courage pupils to read and write the word to complete the sentence structure.Go around the class to offer help, if necessary +Have pupils say the complete sentence aloud Do this several times, with pupils saying the sentence both individually and in chorus Correct their prounciation if necessary, and praise them when their pronunciation is good + Repeat the same procedure with the fox, the quiz and the question Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to the task + Ask pupils to work in pairs or in group + Invite some pairs to point to the picture and say the and the sentences in front of the class Activity 4: -Content 4: Let’s play - Procedure: + Divide class into two groups + Ask Ss of two groups play game + Congratulate the winner  Consolidation: - Content: Review the letter P/K and words (pasta, popcorn,pizza, kite,bike and kitten) - Procedure: + Ask Ss to answer the following questions: What have you learnt from the lesson today? What are the core values of the lesson?
