Mặc dù kết quả nghiên cứu đã phản ánh được tình hình thực tế sản xuất lúa của nơng hộ ở đồng bằng Sông Cửu Long, đồng thời phản ánh đúng với cơ sở lý thuyết và giả thuyết nghiên cứu đã được xây dựng ở phần trên. Tuy nhiên, luận án vẫn còn một số khiếm khuyết chưa đo lường hết được bởi nghiên cứu dựa trên một số giả định sau:
Trước tiên, những nơng hộ có nhu cầu vay vốn ở các tổ chức tín dụng chính thức là để phục vụ cho sản xuất lúa.
Thứ hai, hoạt động sản xuất lúa của nông hộ đang ở mức tối ưu.
Thứ ba, luận án chỉ xem xét năng suất lúa của nông hộ bị hạn chế tín dụng khác nhau như thế nào đối với nơng hộ khơng bị hạn chế tín dụng.
Thứ tư, luận án chỉ phân tích dựa trên số liệu khơng gian ở hai thời điểm khác nhau là năm 2015 và năm 2018 mà không quan tâm đến mức độ trùng lắp người trả lời.
Do đó, để có thể khắc phục được những hạn chế của nghiên cứu cũng như thể hiện rõ ảnh hưởng của hạn chế tín dụng đến hiệu quả sản xuất nơng nghiệp của nơng hộ, hướng nghiên cứu tiếp theo có thể thực hiện trên cơ sở giải quyết được các hạn chế trên và phân tích ảnh hưởng của hạn chế tín dụng đến năng suất sản xuất nông nghiệp của nơng hộ. Trên cơ sở đó, nghiên cứu có thể so sánh hiệu quả của tín dụng đối với các loại nơng sản khác nhau nhằm khuyến khích các tổ chức tín dụng quan tâm và phát triển đối với từng đối tượng.
