(1)Week Period 1: UNIT HELLO I Aims: - By the end of this lesson, students will be able to: greet someone with “Hi/ Hello”; introduce oneself; trace and write letters A/a and B/b; say and recognize sound a and b - Develop listening, speaking, … skills II Teaching methods: - Communicative approach - Techniques: + Ask and answer (say individually) + Work in pairs/ groups + Discuss III Teaching aids: - Teacher’s aids: student’s and teacher’s books, word cards, pictures, CD, puppets, … - Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks IV Languages focus: - Phonics: a/ b - Vocabulary: Hi/ Hello/ boy/ girl/ I am, V Procedures: (2) Stages Teacher’s activities Students’activities Greetings: Greeting: - Introduce about myself: name, age, address…in Vietnamese - Introduce about themselves: name, age, address…in Vietnamese 2 Introduction: Introduction: - Teach some sentences of greeting and - Learn some sentences of the usage of them greeting and the usage of them ( T suggests Ss to tell about Good morning, … Then T writes those words on the board: Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good night) (T reads times, Ss repeat Then T asks Ss to read in individual) + If we meet together, we say the following sentences: + Ss listen and repeat the sentences: Teacher: Hi/ Hello/ Students: … Teacher: … Students: … + If we meet together, we can say: + Ss listen and repeat (in chorus, in individual) Teacher: … Students: … Teacher: Hi, everybody!
