(1)Hanoi Education & Training Department Thang Long High School LESSON PLAN Unit 13: Hobbies Part A: Reading Student Teacher: Nguyen Thi Oanh Teaching Practicum : at Class 11A3 Instructor: Ms Dao Thuy Hanh Class Description: 54 Ss from class 11A3, 27 boys and 27 girls Time: 45 ms Objectives At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:  Reading comprehension: guessing meaning of words in contexts and scanning for specific information  Speaking: talk in pairs and in group Anticipated problems Ss might not have enough sufficient vocabulary and structures to talk about the topic, T should be ready to provide some and give help if necessary Teaching Aids: textbooks, handouts, cards, pictures Procedure Lop11.com (2) Stages Time Warm- 7’ up Teacher’s Activities Students’ Activities Hangman game -Divides the class into big groups Each group takes turn to say out one letter in a key word which the T thinks in her mind If they give the correct one, T will write it down in the correct position, if they give the wrong answer, T will draw the head ( the arms, the body, the legs) If they are able to tell what the word is before the hanged man is draw, they win the game -Work in groups -Take turn and say out the letter -Guess the words Clues: - It is a noun - It is way to relax ourselves - It is related to free time - Collecting stamps, reading books, going fishing are examples for this noun Key : HOBBY Lead in: The key word today is hobby What does it mean in Vietnamese?(sở thích) Now, we are going to read more about some popular hobbies Lop11.com (3) Pre10’ reading -
