SPEAKING P.2 Describe a family (not your own) that you like You should say: Who they are; Where they live; How you know them; And explain why you like them I’d like to talk about a family in our neighborhood It’s a small family with just three people: the mom, the dad, and their son who is just at kindergarten age I’m not super close to this family, but I like them, especially because of their parenting Once I saw the little boy playing with a brand new toy hi our neighborhood It’s a stuffed giraffe that sings a song if you press it Lots of other kids nearby seemed to be green with envy about his toy But this boy didn’t want to share with any of them and even fought with a little girl for it When the girl wanted to play with him, he suddenly pushed her down And they both started crying veiy loudly I thought his parents would yell at him but they weren’t too harsh with him The dad helped the girl up and the mom let the kids tell them what happened first Then she taught the boy that if you show off your toy but don’t share, you’ll lose all your friends I don’t know if he could really understand those words but he ended up apologizing to the girl and gave her a hug The little incident left a really good impression on me I appreciate the way the parents talked to the boy I bet they must respect each other very much at home To this boy, I think his parents are also his best friends who he can talk to about everything So, I really like the way they get along with each other 2 Describe a time when you saw children behave badly in public You should say: Where it was; What the children were doing; How others reacted to it; And explain how you felt about it I’d like to talk about a naughty kid I saw in a park near my neighborhood If memory serves correctly, it was two or three months ago I was on a walk with my mom at the park and there were some kids and parents hanging out there as well Anyway, there was a boy who’s just at kindergarten age, and he was playing with a brand new toy at the park It’s a stutfed giraffe that sings a song if you press it Lots of other kids nearby seemed to be green with envy about his toy But this boy didn’t want to share with any of them and even fought with a little girl for it When the girl wanted to play with him, he pushed her to the ground which made her cry very loudly The ciy drew everyone’s attention to them, including the boy’s parents I thought they would yell at him but they weren’t too harsh with him The dad helped the girl up and the mom let the kids tell them what happened first Then she taught the boy that if you show off your toy but don’t share, you’ lose all your friends I don’t know if he could really understand those words but he ended up apologizing to the girl and gave her a hug It was a good ending Honestly, I thought this rude little boy might lack good parenting, but his parents proved me wrong They were neither too strict with him nor did they spoil him I really appreciate the way they talked to him 3 Describe a time when you encouraged someone to something that they didn’t want to You should say: Who he or she is; What you encouraged him/her to do; How he/she reacted; And explain why you encouraged him/her to it Well, once I encouraged my little nephew who’s just at kindergarten age to share toys with others He was really reluctant at first If memory serves correctly, it was two or three months ago I was playing with him at a park and there were some kids and parents hanging out there as well My nephew was playing with a brand-new toy that I had just bought him It’s a stuffed giraffe that sings a song if you press it Lots of other kids nearby seemed to be green with envy about his toy But he didn’t want to share with any of them and even fought with a little girl for it, which made me feel so awkward I apologized to the little girl and her parents right away, and also tried to get my nephew to share I told him that if you show off your toy but don’t share, you’ll lose all your friends He pouted1 and said nothing I realized that he would resist even more if I forced him So I asked linn if he was interested in other children’s toys He nodded slightly Then I encouraged him to share his toy with other kids first so they would let him play with their toys My nephew figured out that sharing is good for him so he finally took the first step It was a good ending And I had a sense of achievement making something right Even though it’s hard to reason with a four-year-old kid, getting him to share is definitely good for him hi the long mil 4 Describe a polite person you know You should say: Who he/she is; How you knew him/her; What he/she is like; And explain why you think he/she is polite I’d like to talk about a veiy polite kid I saw at a park near my neighborhood If memory serves correctly, it was two or three months ago I was on a walk with my mom at the park and there were some kids and parents hanging out there as well Anyway, there was a boy who’s just at kindergarten age, and he was playing with a brand- new toy at the park It’s a stuffed giraffe that sings a song if you press it Lots of other kids nearby seemed to be green with envy about his toy I thought the boy would refuse to share his toy After all, it’s normal for kids at his age to fight with each other over toys But he wowed me when he greeted other kids attentively and asked them politely if they wanted to play with him I also noticed that when he accidentally stomped on a kid’s foot, he said sorry right away And he waved and said goodbye properly to others when he left He’s such a well-mannered, gentle boy The little boy left a really good impression on me You know, nice kids are pretty likable Those traits are also helpful for them to gain popularity at school Even though I don’t know his parents, I bet they are really good role models for him They must respect each other very much at home After all, parenting plays the most important role in teaching kids how to behave 5 Describe a time when you felt bored You should say: When it was;
