* Với động từ TOBE (was/ were) Khẳng định: (+) S – be – N/ adj. (+) I/ she/ he/ it/ N + was + N/ adj
(+) You/ we/ they/ Ns + were + N(s)/ adj Phủ định: (-)S – Be not – N/ adj.
(-) I/ she/ he/ it/ N + wasn’t + N/ adj
(-) You/ we/ they/ Ns + weren’t + N(s)/ adj Nghi vấn: (?) Be – S – N/ adj?
(?)Were + you/ they/ Ns + N(s)/ adj? (?)Was + I/ she/ he/ it/ N + N/ adj? * Với động từ thường.

- Thì QKĐG diễn tả hành động xảy khứ, đã chấm dứt biết rõ thời gian eg: I went to the cinema last night.
- Khi đổi sang dạng phủ định nghi vấn nhớ đưa động từ nguyên mẫu eg:
I didn’t go to the cinema last night Did you go to the cinema last night? 3 Dấu hiệu nhận biết.
- Yesterday: hôm qua
- Last + week/ month/ year/…: tuần / tháng trước, năm ngoái - A week/ month/ year/… ago: tuần/ tháng/ năm… trước - When QKĐ, QKĐ
- Once: đã
