UNIT 1: MY HOBBIES I Objectives

- By the end of the unit, students will be able to:

+ pronounce correctly the sounds / ə / and / ɜ: / correctly in isolation and in context + use the lexical items related to hobbies

+ use the present simple, the future simple and verbs of linking + V- ing correctly and appropriately

+ describe and give opinions about hobbies

+ read for general and specific information about an unusual hobby + listen to get specific information about a hobby

+ write a paragraph about a classmate’s hobby

- Students will be developed skills: speaking , listening , reading and writing - Students will be educated to have good hobbies and they will like learning English more and more

LESSON : GETTING STARTED ( P - 7) A OBJECTIVES:

- By the end of this lesson, students will be able to listen and read the dialogue among Nick, Elena and Mi to understand the details then some more tasks to understand more about hobbies

+ Vocabulary: unusual, challenging, occasion, a piece of cake + Grammar:

- Skills: practice and develop listening, reading and speaking skills

- Political thought and moral sense: educate students should have good hobbies and they will be interested in learning English more

* Concept check: Rub out and remember - Each time, T rubs out one English word but not Vietnamese - Ss chorus the words which T has rubbed

- When all the words are rubbed out , Ss chorus all the words one time

- T asks Ss to come to the board and write again all the words which he / she has rubbed ( one S can write one word only )

- T corrects

- T asks Ss to copy down

* Pre-questions ( Part p.6 )

- T shows the picture on page then asks some questions Can you guess who they are? Where are they?

- When Ss answer question 1, T introduces Elena, Nick’s sister, Nick and Mi - T asks Ss to guess the answers

Step : While – reading(20ms)

* Activity 1: Listen and read then check:

- T says: You’ll listen and read the dialogue

- T gives the instructions: You look at the dialogue then listen to the tape and check your prediction

- T turns on the tape twice - Ss listen and read

- T calls two good students to read again the dialogues - T asks the others to correct

- T corrects Ss' mistakes
