Lesson A1.

I Objectives: At the end of the lesson Ss can be able to talk about foods they buy at the market

Knowledge.

* Vocabulary: stall, selection, pork, display, spinach, cucumber, papaya, pineapple, durian, green # ripe

* Grammar: Expressing preferences.

2 Skill: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

3 Attitude: It helps Ss to have motivation, happiness to communicate with each other in English Besides, the lesson can help Ss work harder and get moral sense

II PREPARATION.

1 Teacher: lesson plan, textbook and stereo. 2 Students: textbook, notebook and workbooks.

III. METHOD: Kim’s game, WnW?, LN, WCD, Survey. IV PROCEDURE.

2 Checking the old lesson(5’): correct the test no 3 New lesson(35’)

T’s Activities Ss’ Activities I Warm up(5’): Kim’s game.

- Use the pictures or words written on the board of : fish , chicken , beef , milk , bananas, apples , carrots , oranges

II Presentation(20’). 1 Vocabulary(5’).

 spinach (n): rau chân vịt  cucumber (n): dưa chuột  papaya (n): đu đủ

 pineapple (n): dứa  durian (n): sầu riêng  ripe (adj): chín

 to smell: ngửi thấy/ có mùi - Elicit the new words

- Model times

- Record the new words - Check the meanings

2 Checking vocabulary(5’): W n W? - Draw the circles on the board

- Have Ss retell the new words

- Ask Ss to repeat the words in chorus

- Rub out word by word but leave the circles - Go on until all the circles are empty

- Ask Ss to go to the board and write the words in their correct circles

- Check and correct

1 Presentation dialogue(5’).

- Ask Ss to read the dialogues in pairs

- Call on some pairs to practice reading in front of the class

- Correct their pronunciation

- Ask Ss to read the dialogues again to find out the answer in the book

- Have Ss play a game: Lucky numbers

1) What did Hoa and her aunt buy at the market? 2) LN

3) Does Hoa like pork? How about her aunt? 4) LN

5) What meat would they like for dinner?

2 Grammar (5’).

- Explain some sentences of Hoa and her aunt in the dialogues

- Model sentences: S1: I don’t like pork.

S2: Neither I / I don’t either. S1: I like spinach and cucumbers. S2: So I / I do, too

(So and too are used in the formative sentences Neither and either are used in the negative ones) (Not either = Neither)

a Practice(10’).

- Give some pictures or given words to Ss to practice

+ Carrots X + Beef V + Papaya V + Cabbage X + Fish X + Chicken V

- Have Ss work in pairs using the structures they have just learnt and given words

- Call on some pairs to practice in front of the class

I Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to express preferences

1 .Knowledge.

* Vocabulary: name of foods

* Grammar: expressing preferences, using ”So, too, either, Neither”. 2 Skill: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

3 Attitude: It helps Ss to have motivation, happiness to communicate with each other in English Besides, the lesson can help Ss work harder and get moral sense

II PREPARATION.

1 Teacher: lesson plan, textbook and stereo. 2 Students: textbook, notebook and workbooks.

III METHOD: Jumbled words, Example exchange, Brainstorm. IV PROCEDURE.

I. Warm up(5’): Jumbled words.

- Present the jumble words on the board

- Get feedback

II. Presentation(10’): Grammar.

- Elicit to show the structure by asking some questions

Ex: I like apples Do you like them?

Neither I Or: I don’t either Notes

- “Either/ Neither” are used in negative statements

- “So/ too” are used to in affirmative statements

(There is an inversion of the subject and the auxiliary in statements with So/ Neither.)

Team work

- Look at the words and rewrite them in the correct forms

- Listen and answer - Coy down

III. Practice(15’).

- Guide Ss how to practice the exchanges

Example exchange:

S1: I like lemon juice S2: I do, too/ So I.

S1: I don’t drink coffee. S2: I don’t either a I drink a lot of milk b I don’t like durians

c I like spinach and cucumbers d I don’t like peas

e I don’t drink beer

- Control and correct mistakes IV. Further Practice(5’)

- First guide Ss to write this part, take examples then have Ss write themselves and present on the board

- Control and correct their mistakes and present the writing (sub-board)

* What did you eat and drink yesterday?

- For breakfast, I ate some bread and some milk / eggs / some noodles…

- For lunch, I ate some rice, some chicken, some fish and some soup I drank Coca - Cola and some

water…

- For dinner, I ate some fried rice, some chicken / some soup / some ……

- Practice in pairs

3 Attitude: It helps Ss to have motivation, happiness to communicate with each other in English Besides, the lesson can help Ss work harder and get moral sense

II PREPARATION.

1 Teacher: lesson plan, textbook and stereo. 2 Students: textbook, notebook and workbooks.

III METHOD: Bingo, ROR, Gapfill, Comprehension question, LN IV PROCEDURE.

- Show the pictures and ask Ss to choose the food they like

- Say aloud the words: meat: beef, pork, … fruits: orange, durian, … vegetables: spinach, lettuce, … - Get feedback

II. Pre – Reading(10’). 1 Vocabulary(5’).

 dirt (n): vết bẩn(pic)

 terrible (a): kinh khủng( synonym: awful)

 probably (adv): có thể( synonym: can)  carefully (adv): cách cẩn

thận( example) - Elicit the new words - Model times

- Record the new words - Check the meanings

2 Checking the vocabulary(5’): ROR. - Ask Ss to repeat the words in chorus - Rub out word by word

- Ask Ss to go to the board and rewrite the words

- Get feedback

III. While – Reading(15’).

- Look at the pictures and choose

- Listen carefully

- The winners say Bingo if they have all the words that are read aloud by the T

- Listen and guess the words - Listen and repeat

- Answer the T and copy down

- Practice pronouncing - Keep practicing - Do the task

- Ask Ss to put the suitable words in the blanks

- Have Ss compare - Get feedback Key:

2 Comprehension questions(5’). - Run through the questions a Why did Ba go to the doctor’s? b What did he eat last night?

f Did the doctor give Ba some medicine? - Ask Ss to read the text again to answer the questions on their notebooks

IV. Post – Reading(5’): LUCKY NUMBER.

- Guide Ss to choose a number to get the point by lucky number or answer the questions

- Help Ss to play - Praise the winner
